We were so pleased to celebrate Raise Foundation's National Day of Connection yesterday. Connection is so important for students who are missing school because of a complex medical or mental condition. Who will you connect with today?

Today is National Day of Connection.

We hope that today, and every day, you can find meaningful connections. Whether it’s a heartfelt conversation, a moment of vulnerability, or a shared experience, even small moments of connection can have a profound impact.

By creating these moments, we help build stronger communities across Australia where everyone can thrive.

We would love to see your connection moments so please tag

What can be done to support students with complex medical and mental health conditions in the education system? There is a growing risk that, due to a "lack of uniformity over how disability is defined and perceived" (Baskaran et. al.), young people fall through the cracks and do not receive enough support. Even though they are covered by existing policies such as the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) they are often overlooked for specialised support.

Our Seen&Heard Helpline Service is on standby to support parents and carers, educators and health professionals with information on education support pathways and technology options to keep these students connected to their schools, friends and learning. Call 1300 237 234.
