Something happened in the shop today that got me a little rattled and I’d like to ask for public opinion.
I’m not going into too much detail as I would not like to identify the people involved.
We had a young mum in today with a little boy. He was not naughty in any way but a normal active boy. He tripped over his feet a few times but like normal kids he picked himself up and toddled off. As he went over again an older lady forcibly grabbed his arm in front of me before he could get himself up. Now as you may know I’m a mum myself and I wouldn’t like a stranger grabbing my child like that. Also many years ago I witnessed my nephews attempted abduction so I got into minor panic mode. I politely asked the lady to let him go so he could go back to his mum (who was close by) and she refused saying she didn’t grab him (she still had hold of him 🤦‍♀️). I repeatedly asked her to let him go and she repeatedly refused but then said as a grandmother she can grab any child she likes and told me to shut up. Now this lady was a complete stranger to the family. She eventually let him go after my insistence but gave me a mouthful of colourful language before being asked to leave.
My thoughts… as a mother I felt I needed to step in while mum was distracted briefly but remembering seeing my nephew being dragged off I may of overreacted.
What do you guys think??

EDIT - thank you everyone for taking the time to comment. I’m turning off comments now before it turns into ‘mums fault’. To also add mum had her back turned to clip her other little one in a pram before turning for her boy. She didn’t hear me tell the lady to let the boy go as I was trying to be discrete. By then she’d let the boy go and he was beside mum. All mum heard was me asking the lady to leave. Please don’t turn this back on mum. It all happened quickly and she only had her eyes off him very briefly. I have yet to meet a perfect parent/grandparent that has never had to look away from their child for a second.

WE ARE NOT CLOSING!!!!!

With Cactus Jacks moving we have been hearing lots of rumours that our building is getting demolished and we are closing. This is not true!! Yes that could change in the future but as of now it is not happening. We are still here working as normal. Please if you hear these rumours tell them it is not true. We are more than happy for people to come in and ask us.

We will keep everyone up to date if this changes. You will also see us running around like headless chickens in panic mode if this this was the case.
