It was so wonderful to be a part of the Reverse Advent Calendar Australia. Our little group from Reverse Advent Calendar Caroline Springs, are thankful to all who contributed to filling boxes with food, hygiene products, treats and other necessities. Together we filled 14 boxes and they were donated to Combined Churches Caring Melton in time for Christmas.

If you still want to help but can’t fill a box, you’re welcome to drop off small items that I can add to our communal box. 🫶🏼

Introducing the Reverse Advent Calendar! 🎄
Hey Caroline Springs community! 🌟 I have been a participant of the Reverse Advent Calendar for the past 3 years and this year, I'm excited to launch the initiative here in Caroline Springs. The Reverse Advent Calendar is a special twist on the traditional Advent calendar where instead of receiving treats, we give back to those who need it most.
Leading up to Christmas, I will be distributing filled boxes to families and individuals in our area experiencing food insecurity. But I can't do it without YOU!
I need your help to fill these boxes with non-perishable food items, toiletries, or small gifts that can make a big difference.
If you're able to help, please come and collect a box from Caroline Springs Vet Hospital. Swing by, grab one (or more!), fill it up, and drop it back off.
Let's spread some holiday cheer and ensure no one goes hungry this season! 🙏

How to Participate in Reverse Advent Calendar:
1. Collect Your Box: Pick up an empty Reverse Advent Calendar box from Caroline Springs Veterinary Hospital. We have boxes available now.
2. Fill It Up: Add one item daily for 20 days. We provide a flyer with suggested items for your box.
3. Return Your Box: Bring your filled box back to Caroline Springs Veterinary Hospital by Saturday Dec 13th 2025. The items will be donated to Combined Churches Caring Melton, who will then distribute the boxes to our local community.

What is a Reverse Advent Calendar?
A Reverse Advent Calendar begins as an empty box. For 20 days in the lead up to Christmas you place one item (non-perishable food, toiletries, Christmas treat) into the box.
After 20 days your filled Reverse Advent Calendar is returned where it is then distributed by food relief agencies to people in our immediate community who are experiencing food insecurity.
Unlike a regular Advent Calendar where the focus is on receiving a treat every day the Reverse Advent Calendar takes the focus off receiving and places the focus on giving to others.
