Wednesday Morning.

Vessel with 1 POB departed Indented Head boat ramp but only travelled around 500 metres when the engine cut out and could not be restarted. The vessel did not anchor and was drifting East. Queenscliff Rescue 303 responded and located the vessel around 0.5 NM South East of Indented Head. The vessel was towed back to Indented Head boat ramp and Rescue 303 returned to Queenscliff.

Info from the job on Friday afternoon.

A vessel with 2 POB reported electrical problems about 8 NM off Port Phillip Heads. The vessel was making way slowly towards the Heads. The vessel then lost all electrical power and the engine stopped around 6 NM south of Point Nepean. Queenscliff Rescue 303 was requested to respond and located the disabled vessel near the location given. Rescue 303 towed the vessel back through the Heads and then on to Sorrento ramp and then Rescue 303 returned to Queenscliff.

Info from the job on Sunday early morning.

A vessel fishing near Point Henry with 2 POB reported a flat battery and unable to start the engine. Coast Guard Queenscliff was requested to respond. Queenscliff Rescue 303 responded from Queenscliff and travelled to Point Henry. The vessel was located anchored at the location given. The vessel’s engine was jump started and the vessel recovered the anchor at returned to St Helens under its own power. Rescue 303 returned to Queenscliff.

Vessel with 2 POB was fishing off Sorrento and developed electrical problems and could not start the engine. Queenscliff Rescue 303 was requested to respond. The vessel was located anchored at the location given and then towed to Sorrento Ramp. Rescue 303 returned to Queenscliff.

Friday 7th

Water Police requested Rescue 303 attend to assist a vessel broken down in Swan Bay that could not get their engine started. Rescue 303 responded and located the vessel at the provided location. The Distressed Vessel was taken under tow and take back to Swan Bay boat ramp.

Info from the job on Friday afternoon.

A vessel owner was carrying out maintenance on his vessel on a swing mooring at Queenscliff off the Queenscliff Cruising Yacht Club when he suffered a medical episode. Another owner on a nearby vessel became aware of the situation and went to the assistance of the casualty. Coast Guard Queenscliff, Water Police, Police, Ambulance, CFA and Queenscliff Harbour staff were all called to respond to the situation. The vessel, with at casualty on board, was moved to the QCYC wharf and Ambulance Officers boarded the vessel and treated the casualty. The casualty was moved ashore and received further treatment from the Ambulance Officers and the vessel was moved back to the mooring.
