Our Indigenous Plant Nursery is open Wednesdays and Sundays

Wednesday 9am -midday
Sunday 10 am -midday

We grow plants that naturally occurred in our area at the time of European settlement.

These are the plants that have adapted to the local conditions and provide appropriate food and shelter for animals living in that area.

Our Queenscliffe Indigenous Nursery only grows plants that are indigenous to Swan Bay and the Bellarine Peninsula.

We are committed to working with the community to protect Swan Bay . Growing and planting indigenous species nurtures our environment, provides habitat for our region's wildlife and preserves plant species thereby encouraging genetic diversity.

We provide tube stock for a variety of plantings and your support will ensure our work continues.

For further information and a ull list of plants available see

Our Indigenous Plant Nursery is open TOMORROW and every SUNDAY

BETWEEN 10 am and MIDDAY

79 NELSON Rd QUEENSCLIFF

Our Queenscliffe Indigenous Nursery only grows plants that are indigenous to Swan Bay and the Bellarine Peninsula.

They are the plants that have adapted to the local conditions and provide appropriate food and shelter for animals living in that area. Our nursery volunteers collect seeds and nurture the seedlings until they're ready to plant in gardens and public spaces in and around Swan Bay and the Bellarine.

Planting Indigenous species in your garden and in public spaces actively supports the regeneration of habitat and encourages a healthy ecosystem. Its an investment in biodiversity and a healthy planet.

COMMUNITY PLANTING MORNING

SUNDAY 14TH JUNE AT 10.30 AM.

Corner of Fellows & Murray Roads, Queenscliff

Can you please help restore habitat nad protect Swan Bay's fragile ecosystem by joining a community planting morning on 14 June ?

The Swan Bay Environment Association is spearheading this project in collaboration with the Borough of Queenscliffe and the Bellarine Catchment Network. The w**ds and grass have been cut back and sprayed and in a few weeks planting with indigenous ground covers and shrubs can begin.

The plants will be supplied by the Queenscliffe Indigenous Nursery (QIN) and the planting plans have been overseen by a qualified horticulturist from the QIN.

Upgrading this site will greatly improve one of the entrances to the Borough and provide an important habitat for the fauna of the area.

We would love as many people as possible to come along and help complete the project.

The beautiful Common Correa (Coastal Moonah Form) is in flower all over the Borough at the moment.

We have tubestock available at the nursery.

This lovely flowering shrub prefers well drained soil in full sun or part shade. You'll be sure to have many birds visit when these are part of your garden.
We're open Wednesdays and Sundays and you can find out more about our nursery here

Once a month a band of volunteers spend two hours on a Sunday morning restoring local habitat, removing woody w**ds and encouraging the return of indigenous vegetation.

This is important , valuable work and every invasive w**d removed means there's an opportunity for native habitat to revegetate or be replanted. Ecosystems are revived and Swan Bay is nurtured. Our w**ding is vital to the health of the ecosystem.

AND IT'S GREAT FUN
