Queanbeyan Girl Guides

Queanbeyan Girl Guides Empowering growth into confident, self respecting, responsible community members Girl Guides offers girls access to a great variety of activities.

For over 100 years Girl Guides have been learning life skills, developing their leadership abilities and becoming self-confident, responsible community members. Guides participate in weekly meetings which could include games, outdoor activities, craft, cooking, camping, environmental activities, hiking, canoeing and more. Because girls play an important part in choosing, planning and running their

own activities, no two guide units are the same. In fact, no two weeks are the same for any guide unit. The Australian Girl Guide Program offers a variety of fun activities that focus on self-development in the areas of practical skills, physical development and relationships with people, appropriate to the girls’ ages and interests. Girls of all ages are involved in decision making, planning, implementing and evaluating their activities. Guiding is about being part of a team. Age groups for the girls range from 5 to 18 years and we welcome volunteer leaders to join. To find out more about Girl Guides you can visit www.girlguides.org.au

We need YOUR creativity for something pretty special…

Guides aged 10–17, this is your chance to design this year’s GGS badge – are you ready to take it on?

There’s plenty of room to make it your own, but every design needs to include:
👉 ‘Great Guide Sleepover 2026’ clearly featured
☘️ The Girl Guide Trefoil
🫶 Our conservation focus animal for this year… the Regent Honeyeater!
💬 A catchy slogan using alliteration – think along the lines of “Honeyeaters, H____ & H____” to capture the spirit of the event!

You can enter as many designs as you like, with submissions closing Tuesday 30 June. One lucky winner will receive an awesome gift pack and bragging rights for creating this year’s GGS badge!

Send your design, along with your name and Member Number, to [email protected]
