The majority of CHMC affiliated clubs were the
n country based and this led, in its early years, to the Council being commonly referred to as The BUSH COUNCIL However the CHMC for many years now has clubs based in Wollongong, Newcastle and Sydney so it is represents historic motor clubs right across New South Wales. The CHMC is an Incorporated Association with its own purpose-written Constitution. The Council has an elected Committee of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Editor, TfNSW Liaison Officer, Registrar and two AHMF delegates. All officers are unpaid and work voluntarily for the benefit of the member clubs. The CHMC meets formally twice a year with member clubs' delegates gathering to discuss issues of common interest or concern. In between the April and October meetings the CHMC Committee meets regularly, either face-to-face or online. The CHMC communicates with its member clubs by its newsletter “Dinkum Oil”, topical emailings and Committee visits to clubs. CHMC holds information days and workshops, in person and online to keep clubs up-to-date especially on vehicle registration. Council regularly updates its Facebook Posts and its website - www.heritagemotoringcouncil.org.au
