There’s something pretty special about rodeo week in Queanbeyan.

For one week each year, our entire community comes together to help create what we proudly believe is one of the best rodeos in the country. Behind the scenes, the Queanbeyan Rodeo is a registered charity run by a passionate volunteer commitee.

But when rodeo week rolls around, the real magic begins.

Local community groups, service clubs, families, businesses and countless individual volunteers roll up their sleeves and jump in to help. From early morning setups to late-night pack downs, ticket scanning, food stalls, arena prep and everything in between it truly becomes a community effort.

It’s this incredible spirit of generosity, teamwork and pride in our town that makes the Queanbeyan Rodeo what it is today.

To every volunteer, community group, and supporter who helps make it happen each year thank you we couldn't do it without you. ✨

🌧️ Due to the weather and the partial cancellation of the Queanbeyan Rodeo on Saturday, the ABCRA are currently reviewing the rules regarding points and prize money allocation for competitors. An update will be provided once this has been finalised.

All entry fees for cancelled rounds will be fully refunded, with refunds to be processed by the ABCRA later this week.

A huge thank you to all competitors for your support over the weekend. Our committee was committed to delivering a fantastic event for you all, but unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans.

Thank you also to the ABCRA for their ongoing support.

Celebrating one of our incredible Stock Contractors, Rick Wilson from Wilson Rodeo Co, over the weekend! 🐎

Wilson Rodeo Co is known for breeding and raising some of the finest bucking horses in the country, and we were proud to take a moment in the arena on Saturday to recognise Rick before the heavens opened above us. 🌧️

A huge happy birthday, Rick, and thank you for everything you bring to the sport we love.

With heavy hearts, this brings the 2026 Asphalt Patches Queanbeyan Rodeo to a close.

The health and safety of our stock, competitors, and attendees will always come first. Following the evening rain, the arena has unfortunately been deemed unsafe for competition.

To our competitors and stock contractors, thank you for being part of this year’s event.

To our incredible committee and arena officials, your hard work behind the scenes does not go unnoticed.

To our valued sponsors, we sincerely thank you for your support of our rodeo and community.

And to the Queanbeyan community...thank you for braving the forecast and showing up to celebrate the sport of rodeo with us. Your support means everything.

We wish everyone safe travels on their journey home.
