We understand that education is core to improving the lives not only of the students, but their families and communities as well.

Congratulations to our member, and former Committee member Jeanette R. on successfully receiving a national ‘Making a Difference Award’ for her outstanding contribution, support and friendship in the Club over the past 40 years. Jeanette also maintains strong connections with other Clubs and former members with genuine care. Jeanette exemplifies our guiding principles of VIEW of being Inclusive and Welcoming, Supportive and Caring, Diverse and Respecting, Locally Focused and Nationally Active, Collaborative and Future Looking - a true ambassador for VIEW, our Vision and our Mission. 👏👏👏🎉🎉🎉💐💐💐

We had a very purple time celebrating our 42nd birthday yesterday 💜. Our guest, Councillor Ross Macdonald of QPRC, presented long service pins to Thea (40 years), Clare (30 years) and President Kaye (20 years), Thea cut our cake and Sue was our ‘best dressed’ in the ‘shades of purple’ theme. We also presented badges to 4 new members in our growing club. Thank you to the Tourist Hotel venue and staff, everyone who organised, helped set up and attended our celebration, or donated one of the many prizes in our raffle including the Tourist Hotel and Urban Bar and Grill. Proceeds go to donations to The Smith Family. A great time was had by all!

It’s National Volunteer Week (NVW) – Australia’s nationwide celebration of volunteering! 💜

For VIEW, this week is a time to say thank you to all our wonderful members for being part of our organisation and volunteering to support the work of The Smith Family.

VIEW is one of Australia’s largest and longest running women’s volunteer organisations. We have clubs across Australia, made up of like-minded women who volunteer their time to raise funds and awareness of The Smith Family while enriching the lives of others through friendships and social connection.

The theme of NVW this year is “Your Year to Volunteer”. This recognises everyone who gives their time, care and skills to support communities, while inviting more people to find a volunteer opportunity that feels right for them.

We are delighted that around 13,000 women across Australia have chosen to volunteer with VIEW!

Our members sponsor 2 Learning for Life students, as well as raise funds for and generously donate to the Winter and Christmas Appeals, and other educational programs run by The Smith Family. A fantastic opportunity and privilege to provide support to those children and young people that need it to get a great start to life.
