🎉 Congratulations to Kate, who hit 20 years with the Y WA at The Y Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre in September!

Kate started on Friday mornings in the crèche back in 2006 and has since become what she and her coworkers call a ‘jack of all trades’, working across crèche, learning, front desk, coffees, cleaning machines, function supervision and more. Many of our families have trusted her with their little treasures, and she's watched those children grow up and then join the gym as young adults.

Her daughter even started in crèche with her at one, and the flexibility of the job meant Kate could do school drop-offs and pick-ups right through to Year 12.

In Kate's words: "The centre has become part of my life. I have made many friends with not only the staff but the people who attend the centre." 🧡

Thank you, Kate, for 20 years of care, laughs and friendship. Pop in and say congrats next time you see her!

That's a wrap on this year's 'Inside Our Minds' series.

Over the past week, seven courageous young people opened up about facing the future, and how the challenges and stresses they are experiencing today are shaping their hopes, fears, and anxieties about what lies ahead, ultimately impacting their mental health.

Thank you to each of them for their honesty and courage in sharing their stories. Conversations like these are exactly how we break down stigma and remind young people they're not alone.

If you are experiencing a personal crisis help is 24/7 support is available. Call Lifeline WA on 13 11 14.

Grace, 16, talks about the pressure of keeping up with school, relationships, hobbies and everything else. She explores how a mindset shift, as simple as adding "yet" after "I can't do this", has changed how she approaches challenges that feel overwhelming. Grace wishes children understood that they don't have to know it all.
