Today was all about dress-ups, imagination and bringing our favourite stories to life! 🎉📖

We teamed up with to celebrate Book Week in style but beyond the costumes and characters, it was a beautiful reminder of just how important literacy is in shaping young minds. From storytelling to shared reading moments, we're proud to nurture a lifelong love of language and books in every child.

Book Week at our Baldivis Early Learning Centre! ✨📚

Book Week isn't just about dress-ups and stories, it's a reminder of something powerful: literacy is a basic human right, and every child deserves the tools to find their voice.

At the Y, we believe language and literacy are the foundation for lifelong learning and empowerment. From storytime to our School ReadY program, we're committed to giving children the confidence to read, speak and be heard, from their very first years.

Last Thursday, our Kalgoorlie Rec Centre Manager Leah took part in the Daffodil Day Dip in support of Cancer Research through Cancer Council Australia.

Leah spent 18 minutes in 8 degrees! Crazily cold but great fun and for an even greater cause.

The event was organised by our friends at the Goldfields Women's Health Care Centre, bringing together community legends and local faces from Bega Garnbirringu Health Service, the ACCO NTP, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and several other local businesses at the Kalgoorlie Climatize Ice Baths.

The initial fundraising target of $3,000 was well and truly exceeded, with a final total of $6,600 raised for this important cause.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed, participated, or supported the event.

🎶Looking back on an unforgettable week for young people across Newman and Jigalong🎶

As a proud sponsor of the Newman Next Gen Festival, our team helped transport young people from our Education Engagement Attainment Initiative (EEAI) to activities all week, so they could make the most of every opportunity on offer.

One of those opportunities? Teaming up with First Nations powerhouses and Dallas Woods to write lyrics, record an original track and film a music video about Country, culture and community.

The result? An original song called 'All My Mob Are With Me' 🔥

Young people had a blast writing, recording and filming the music video, but the real impact went far beyond the music. It gave them confidence, made them feel heard and showed them that their voices and their stories matter.

National Youth Parliament 2026 has officially wrapped up, and what an unforgettable experience it was for our WA delegates! 🤝

Over 5 incredible days in Canberra, young people from across Australia came together to learn about leadership, democracy and how to make a positive impact in their communities.

Our WA delegates explored Parliament House, debated important issues, met with policymakers and had their voices heard. They even shared lunch with the Minister!

Most importantly, they built confidence, formed lasting friendships and discovered the power of using their voice to create change.

✈️Team WA has made it to Canberra!

Sixteen outstanding young Western Australians are representing WA at National Youth Parliament 2026, joining 150 young leaders from every corner of the country.

This week they'll step inside Parliament House, take part in parliamentary debates, develop their leadership skills and have their voices heard on issues shaping the future of Australia.

We're proud to support the next generation of changemakers and look forward to sharing their National Youth Parliament journey with you.

Our School ReadY Program is so amazing, we even have guests wanting to check it out! ✨

Yappara House ELC was excited to host two visitors from Ambrose Early Learning, Parramatta Diocese, NSW this week. Jo and Rachael spent the morning with us to find out more about the Literacy and Language School ReadY Program which is delivered across all 14 Y WA ELCs.

It was a great opportunity for teams from across the country to share ideas, discuss challenges and embrace the value of collaboration between colleagues working to achieve positive outcomes for children in the early childhood setting.
