Some images from earlier this month, when we welcomed Sport Inclusion Australia to Perth and the Inclusion Solutions office.

It was a fantastic week of learning and connection, with peer-to-peer mentoring and media training alongside WA athletes Kyron Timms, Claudia Flamini, Lux Harrington and Terry Price, followed by a packed Inclusive Pathways Workshop at SportWest.

As Sports Inclusion Australia’s Western Australia representative, we had an amazing week of sharing insights and learnings. Thanks to everyone who participated during the two days.

Over six fun sessions, you will have the opportunity to develop tennis skills, build confidence in a sporting environment, connect with others and enjoy being active. 🌟

We had a beautiful morning yesterday at the VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA High Tea for World Sight Day 🌟.

It was a privilege to hear from people with lived experience and learn more about the diverse ways VisAbility and Guide Dogs WA support people who are blind or have low vision across Western Australia.

The biggest highlight was meeting some incredible guide dogs in training and watching a demonstration of the life-changing role they play in supporting independence and inclusion!

We want to give a special shout-out to the team at Guide Dogs WA for the important work they do in supporting people across WA.

Highlights from last week, when we welcomed Robyn Smith OAM and Michael Thomson from Sport Inclusion Australia to the Inclusion Solutions office!

Over three rewarding days, we had the opportunity to strengthen our partnership with Sports Inclusion Australia and deepen our understanding of how we can continue supporting their work as the Western Australian representative. ⭐

Some standout moments from the week included:
1. A peer-to-peer mentoring workshop featuring some incredible WA athletes, including:
- Kyron Timms (AFL, Basketball and Cricket)
- Claudia Flamini (Athletics)
- Lux Harrington (Netball) and,
- Terry Price (Athletics and Football).

The athletes took part in an intensive day of media and communications training, building their skills through mock interviews, public speaking, and storytelling. We are incredibly grateful to each athlete for their eagerness to learn and for generously speaking about their journey and love of sport! 🙌

2. The Inclusive Pathways Workshop at SportWest, where we explored how promising young athletes can be supported on their journey from grassroots participation to elite competition. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the insightful discussions throughout the session.

A special thank you to Robyn, Michael and Sport Inclusion Australia for your passion, leadership and commitment to creating more inclusive sporting opportunities for people with intellectual disability and autism. We are proud to support and contribute to this important work.

We're excited to welcome Naomi Bowran as the new CEO of the Australian Inclusion Group and it’s entities Inclusion WA and Inclusion Solutions 🙌.

Naomi has more than 10 years’ experience across the not-for-profit and community services sectors. Her background spans service delivery, operations, people and culture, strategy, and organisational development, giving her a broad understanding of what it takes to build strong, sustainable organisations that create meaningful impact.

Naomi is passionate about building positive workplace cultures, developing high-performing teams, and turning strategy into action. She brings a practical, people-focused approach to leadership, with a strong interest in innovation, sustainability and creating opportunities for greater inclusion and participation.

Outside of work, Naomi enjoys bike riding, spending time with family and friends, and supporting the West Coast Eagles.

That’s the question we’ll explore in this exciting workshop presented in partnership with Sport Inclusion Australia.
Introducing our guest speaker: President of Virtus Sport, Robyn Smith OAM.

With more than 35 years of experience working alongside governments, sporting organisations, and disability organisations, Robyn has been a driving force in advancing inclusive sport across Australia and internationally. 💪

It was a pleasure to deliver our flagship training, Social Inclusion and Disability Awareness, to the City of Bunbury last week. Thanks for being such a wonderful, curious group eager to learn how to serve community members with disability even better.
