Together, you’ll help us share stories, promote our work and get more people talking about multilingualism in Australia.

🌏👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 **Calling Multilingual Families in Australia!** 📱🗣️

Are you raising a child with more than one language? Does your family speak a language other than English at home? School of Humanities and Languages at UNSW, Sydney is looking for families to participate in a research project exploring how technology can support children's heritage language learning.

The project is conducted by Assoc Prof Dr Aniko Hatoss (Lead Chief Investigator) and Prof Dr Louise Ravelli at the School of Humanities and Languages at UNSW, Sydney.

✅ You may be eligible if:

You live in Australia
Your family uses at least one language other than English at home
You have a child aged 6–14 who is currently learning their heritage language (at home, community school, or other settings)
You are interested in supporting your child's heritage language development
Your family has access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer
Both you and your child are comfortable using English to discuss language learning and language use

🔗 Complete a 20-minute survey by opening the link here (one parent and one child to respond to questions about everyday language use and using technology for heritage language learning. Please only start the survey if you have discussed this with your child (aged 6-14) and they are happy to do it:

🇦🇺 🇫🇷 A great opportunity for WA students learning French Language 🇦🇺 🇫🇷

The WA/La Réunion Student Exchange (WALRSE) offers a reciprocal 4-week language and cultural immersion program for WA students in Years 9–12, involving a winter trip to Réunion Island and a summer hosting period. Operated by a volunteer network of French teachers, this program facilitates total immersion to enhance language skills and cultural understanding.
