New Lifesavers Ready to Serve
Last Sunday, the clubhouse erupted in cheers as our award-winning Chief Training Officer, Lyndon Forlonge, delivered the words every recruit had worked so hard to hear:
“Congratulations — you have graduated. You can now proudly call yourselves lifesavers!”
The latest cohort had successfully completed their Bronze Medallion training.
After weeks of commitment, courage, teamwork and determination, these new lifesavers have earned far more than a qualification. They have gained the skills, confidence and responsibility to make a genuine difference in our community — and perhaps one day, save a life.
We are incredibly proud of every one of you.
Completing a Bronze Medallion takes commitment, courage and teamwork, but it is also incredibly rewarding. Participants learn practical lifesaving skills, build confidence, meet fantastic people and become part of a club built on community and looking after one another.
We would love to see even more locals get involved.
Whether you are interested in completing your Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC), undertaking the Bronze Medallion, becoming a patrolling lifesaver, or volunteering in a non-patrolling role, there is a place for you at Peregian Beach Surf Club.
A special thank you to CTO Lyndon Forlonge, recently named Surf Life Saving Trainer of the Year at the Branch Awards of Excellence, and to his dedicated Training and Assessment Facilitator team for generously giving up their weekends to help grow our lifesaving community.
