🌺Coolum Common Community Garden Glow Up 🌺
Thanks to the Industry School community give back program and our dedicated volunteers.
✅ greenhouse tidied (led by our treasurer Karen) it’s full of tools and equipment for our members to use to care for the garden and their rental beds (all ready for leasing now!)
✅ food forest edged and refreshed and planted out for next layers of growth (led by our favourite local permaculture farmer Jim and committee member Nicky who helped establish the food forest in 2023)
✅ new row of fruit trees and edible pollinator natives to edge the garden
✅ 11 new garden beds filled with soil, compost, fertiliser and mulch (6 new free community beds that will always be free for anyone to pick and plant in, 5 more rental beds to cover operational costs and fund new projects)
✅ timber garden beds restained (70% done)
✅ compost bays constructed from salvaged timber from tickle park (thanks to John and Anthony our compost club volunteers)
✅ worm farm set up ready to go (donation from local farmer Pat)
New garden signage coming soon!
