**Happy New Year 2025!**

What better way to kick off the year than with a fantastic BBQ at Bunnings? The weather was perfect, the crowd was lively and friendly, and the camaraderie really made it special.

We were thrilled to have the Mayor of Cardinia Shire stop by, snap a photo, and share it on Facebook to encourage even more support.

We'll be back at Bunnings on Saturday, January 11th. Come and grab a snag, and join in on the fun! πŸŒπŸŽ‰

See you there! πŸ‘

πŸŽ„πŸŽ Trailer Load of Christmas Joy! πŸŽπŸŽ„

The Christmas Trailer Raffle, a cherished tradition brought to you by the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Pakenham, has been spreading holiday cheer since 2006. With the incredible support from the Inner Wheel Club starting in 2008, this collaborative effort has grown into a beloved community event.

πŸ—“οΈ Tickets are sold throughout November and December, with the exciting draw taking place just before Christmas. The raffle has garnered immense popularity, with local residents eagerly purchasing tickets each year. All profits from the raffle go towards supporting local community projects.

πŸŽ‰ This year, the prize was a trailer and all its contents worth around $2,500! The support from the community was outstanding, and Rotary and Inner Wheel members extend their heartfelt thanks for this incredible backing.

The draw was held at Pakenham Market Place on Monday afternoon before Christmas, and the lucky winner was Brenda Botten, with ticket number 08507. Brenda, a resident of Pakenham, was overjoyed upon receiving the call and came with her family to claim her prize. In an act of incredible generosity, Brenda donated the trailer back to Rotary for next year's raffle, ensuring the joy continues.

πŸ™ Members of Rotary and Inner Wheel congratulate Brenda and sincerely thank her for her kind donation. We wish everyone a joyous holiday season and look forward to another successful raffle next year!

Rotary Award

Ron & Sylvia Cameron lived on a property in Toomuc Valley for many years, where they had an orchard growing soft fruits and tomatoes. They contributed to the Pakenham Community in many waysβ€”Ron through Rotary and Sylvia through Red Cross and Inner Wheel.

They had no family and left money in trust for the ongoing benefit of the community. A substantial amount was given to Rotary Health Research, and a smaller amount was given to the Rotary Club of Pakenham to establish a trust to assist the education of local students. The first award was made in 2005, and annual awards are made to a student or students at Pakenham Secondary College.

The students, chosen by the school, must be high achievers, trustworthy, and show leadership abilities. The winning students' names are inscribed on a special plaque displayed in the school foyer. The student also receives a certificate and $750.00 to assist with ongoing studies. The recipients of the Ron & Sylvia Cameron Trust Awards for 2024 are Year 10 student Kaneisha Lynn and Year 11 student Yifei Wang.

Award recipients Yifei Wang and Kaneisha Lynn with Rotarian Ken Rook.

πŸŽ„ Christmas Trailer Raffle is Back! πŸŽ„

The Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Pakenham are excited to announce the return of the Christmas Trailer Raffle! This beloved tradition, which began in 2006, has been a huge success thanks to the incredible support from our community.

Starting in 2008, the Inner Wheel Club joined forces with Rotary to help with ticket sales, making this event even more special. Tickets will be available throughout November and December, with the grand draw happening just before Christmas.

The raffle has become a favorite among locals, with many eagerly purchasing tickets each year. All profits go towards supporting local community projects. This year's prize is a trailer filled with goodies worth approximately $3,000!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their continued support. The draw will take place at Pakenham Market Place on Monday, December 23rd at 5:00pm.

Look out for the trailer at various shopping centers around Pakenham. Come say hello, buy some tickets, and you might just be the lucky winner!
