Another very generous donation for our farmers in need ❤️
Thank you Peter for your generosity and for thinking of others.
Peter also donated 2 loads earlier in the year for the Victorian fires.

If you have good quality fodder to donate we can arrange to pick it up.

MORE THAN SOCKS AND JOCKS!!

Our next hay run falls on the weekend of Father’s Day so why not give our struggling farmers ‘more than socks and jocks’ for their Father’s Day gift!

Some of our farmers in Northern New South Wales are now entering their second year in drought. What little feed there is doesn’t grow over winter or is burnt off by frosts

We already have more than 20 truck drivers signed up to give up their Father’s Day weekend to help a total stranger ❤️

You can support our efforts with a fully tax deductible donation to help us to continue making a difference when and where it matters https://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html

Just over 12 months ago Need for Feed Australia and Farmers Across Borders. Hay from WA made the journey from the west to help out drought affected farmers in South Australia.
With funding from the SA Government through PIRSA to cover the freight costs and the hay all purchased from donations to Need for Feed, this was longest hay run ever undertaken in Australia and one of biggest ever shipments of hay.

The Power Of Trucks

About a year ago, through the red dirt and over the black roads of the Nullarbor, more than 80 trucks rolled eastward in a quiet show of pure Aussie heart.

Loaded with over 6,000 bales of precious hay and straw, that “Convoy of Compassion” carried so much more than feed from Western Australia to drought-stricken South Australia.

It carried hope.

It carried the powerful message that no farmer has to face the hard times alone.

Those trucks helped keep nearly half a million animals fed and supported around 400 farming families who were doing it tough.

In a world that can feel so divided, this is what Australian mateship looks like.
This is what community looks like.
This is the power of trucks not just the engines and the wheels, but the kindness that fills every load.

To Need for Feed Australia who purchased the hay, every driver who made the long journey, every organiser who made it possible… thank you. You’re still reminding us that when the land is dry, the human spirit can still be overflowing.

A year on, that convoy still warms the heart.
Because those trucks weren’t just hauling hay they were hauling hope across the country.

Safe Travels

A big thank you to Lucindale lions South East Field Days for your generous donation.
113 large squares of quality wheaten hay and then topped up by Troy Kelly from Narracoorte to make up the 2 road train loads.
This will help support our fire affected Victorian farmers though winter.
It was great to catch up with Angus, Andrew, TJ and Sarah and good to finally meet you Troy.

Some of our boys are out already collecting supplies for this weekend’s hay run to the Longwood fire area.

Seven months on from January’s devastating fires, recovery has been slow and many farmers who lost their hay sheds and or the hay that was still in the paddocks are struggling to make it through winter.

This weekend around 20 trucks will deliver nearly 1000 bales of hay right across the fire area to farmers who have requested help.

You can help us to keep making a difference with a tax deductible donation https://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html
