𝘝𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢 𝘫𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘢 - Native Broom

A graceful weeping shrub with long drooping sprays of yellow-orange pea flowers from October to February.

Native Broom will grow in sand, clay, loam, rocky or poor nutrients soils. Viminaria can be short lived but a fast growing plant suitable for areas in full sun to partial shade. It prefers reliable moisture but is adaptable to drier conditions if it receives summer watering.

The natural habitat of Viminaria juncea is Marshy Heathland atop of coastal headland ridges where soil is shallow and dries often but water moves through the sandstone throughout all seasons of the year, given the elevation.

Viminaria is one of our favourite indigenous natives!

It's highly ornamental and a very hardy shrub. It provides habitat to small birds, protein rich pollen to beneficial insects and nectar to small honeyeater bird species.

Forestry tubes available for $3.50 every Thursday, the first Saturday or online (pickup/delivery).

ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TODAY!!

Today, we collected more than 300 beautiful Australian plants from the Central Coast Wetlands - Pioneer Dairy at South Tacoma, near Wyong.

These beautiful plants have been specially propagated and grown to take pride of place in our beautiful Gardens surrounding the new Elsies Palliative Care Unit at Wyong Hospital. Another big step towards it being ready to open to our wonderful community who have supported us over the past 14 years.

Our thanks to Head Gardener Zamena and her team of volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to grow these beautiful plants for our new unit. They are now in perfect condition and will be planted over the coming weeks by Head Gardener Trent and his team.

We so appreciate your special assistance, compassion and care, that will enhance our beautiful unit 🧡🪴

Another step closer!
