Where: Rumbalara COSS Reserve
Cost: FREE, includes a scrumptious light supper
Grab your torch and see Rumbalara Forest come alive at night. You never know what you might spot and hear! It could be the indescribable screeches from Yellow-bellied gliders, the hoots of the Sooty Owl or the flittering of microbats.
Join Naturalist and Ecologist Tom Covell from “Hooked On Nature” as he takes you for a walk on the wild side, and shares with you his knowledge on how to find and discover the treasures you might find in your backyard local reserves or Creek.

Swift Parrot Bird Survey Walk next Friday 3rd June 9am-12pm, Bateau Bay. Join us on a FREE guided bird walk along Saltwater Creek in Bateau Bay with Kaye Pointer from Central Coast Group Birding NSW. Scrumptious morning tea included!

Observe and listen out for Swifty’s and other local birds.
Learn their calls and how to identify them. Identify their feed trees, look for profusely flowering eucalypts (especially Swamp mahogany, Black butt and Spotted gum).
Find out how you become a citizen scientist and contribute to bird data. Searches and sightings by birdwatchers are critical to scientific knowledge and conservation of the Swift Parrot.
GREAT NEWS! Swifty’s are up this way! They were sighted near Cessnock about a week ago.

Bushfire Recovery Landcare Green teams - tackling weeds and restoring habitat together

Do you live on the Central Coast on a semi-rural property and have 0.5ha or more of native bushland? Do you want to assist in conserving and restoring habitat connectivity after the last devastating bushfires?

Are you interested in forming a ‘Green team’ Landcare group in your area with other like-minded locals to tackle weeds together on each other’s properties and plant local species of flora?
