🎄 Notification of Christmas Trading Hours 🎄

The Ocean View Rural Fire Brigade is staffed by dedicated local volunteers. As always, we’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the entire Christmas and New Year period.

While many businesses close or reduce hours, our brigade continues to respond to emergencies and support our community around the clock.

If you need us urgently, please call 000 immediately. For general enquiries, feel free to message our page, and we’ll reply as soon as our crew are available.

⚡🌧️📢 Community Support Announcement 📢🌧️⚡

In the wake of the recent extreme weather, the Ocean View Rural Fire Brigade (OVRFB) is here to lend a helping hand.

We’ve had members out assisting the general Moreton region since the storm hit. There are still mass power outages in our area, as well as immediately adjacent areas.

So, if you need a safe place to cook, shower, or recharge both your social and literal batteries, we can assist. Our dedicated members will be on hand at the station to assist you tomorrow, Wednesday 26/11/2025, from 4pm to 7pm.

🔥 Is your property ready for bushfire season?

The Ocean View Rural Fire Brigade (OVRFB) is offering free Property Advice Visits for residents.

Our trained volunteers can visit your home and help you:
✅ Understand your property’s specific bushfire risks
✅ Get practical tips to reduce fuel loads and create safer zones
✅ Learn how to make - and use - a Bushfire Survival Plan

These visits are informal, friendly, and designed to help you prepare with confidence.

🔥FIRE BAN - Monday 27th October 🔥

A fire ban will be in place for our region, and beyond, from 0001hrs Monday 27 October to 2359 Monday 27 October.

When fire bans are in place either as a local Fire Ban or during a State of Fire Emergency:

🚫 The lighting of fires in the declared fire ban areas are prohibited subject to any special conditions or exemptions
🚫 All open fires are prohibited
🚫 All Permits to Light Fire issued in the designated area are suspended for the period of the fire ban.

When our Rural Fire Service Queensland crews are responding to bushfires, it’s crucial they can identify and access properties fast.

You can help make their job easier by ensuring:

📏 The entrance to your property is at least 4m wide, with a 4m high clearance.
🔥 There’s space for our vehicles to turn around
📫 Your house or lot number is clearly visible from the road

💬 Reach out to us if you would like our brigade to come and do a property inspection. We can talk through specifics of your home and property, adjacent properties, and things like access.
