A lovely morning at Worldwide Knit in Public. Lots of chatter and laughter. We talked to many visitors and members of a sketching group visiting our town.
We were even able to let a young person have a go.

Worldwide Knit in Public this coming weekend, so do join us on Sunday from 09.30 outside the Dayboro Drop. (If it’s raining, we’ll decamp to the bandstand.) Bring a chair, some yarn and your weapons (needles/hooks) of choice.

Join us at the Dayboro Markets on Sunday 7 June as we officially open Yarn Art Dayboro 2026.

🎺 10:00am – Pine Rivers Municipal Brass Band
🎉 10:30am – WORBLE Competition Draw

🧶 Meet some of the talented artists behind this year's amazing installations and celebrate the creativity that has transformed our town.

The colourful Yarn Art display will be on show throughout June and July, bringing colour, fun, and community spirit to Dayboro's streets.

Visit our QCWA stall for homemade bakes, preserves, and plants grown by our members.

The Samoan 64 Years of Independence Celebration is taking place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The event is located at Pine Rivers Park (125 Gympie Road, Strathpine) rather than the Pine Rivers Showgrounds, and runs from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

The celebration is free to attend and is organized by the Aiga Samoa Association North Brisbane Inc.. The community-focused day will feature:

Cultural Performances: Traditional music, dancing, and entertainment.
Island Food Markets: A variety of authentic Samoan and Polynesian food stalls (such as PolyGrillz) serving up charcoal-grilled BBQ and island flavors.
Family Activities: A vibrant atmosphere for families to connect and celebrate Samoan culture and unity.
