Sistas, are you up to date with cervical screening? The Cervical Screening Test can find human papillomavirus (HPV), which causes most cervical cancers.

You can choose to do the test yourself in private at your health service, or a clinician can do it for you.

If you’re age 25-74, it’s just 1 test every 5 years. Our friendly team is here to support you every step of the way in a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.

Earlier this year, families who received support through our Family Preservation program were invited to tell us about their experience.

Nine families provided feedback and gave us an average rating of 4.63 out of 5 across the six areas we asked about.

Families told us they valued respectful communication, trusting relationships with their caseworkers, practical and emotional support, and having goals they felt were achievable for their family.

Families who left written feedback spoke positively about the support they received.

We also heard where we need to keep listening and learning. Our team will continue to monitor feedback and the support available to families experiencing difficult circumstances.

We want to give a shout out to our Family Preservation teams who do an amazing job supporting families and we are so grateful for the work you do.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experience with us. Your feedback helps us understand what's working well and where we can continue to improve.

It's Children's Week!

Children’s Week celebrates the right of every child to enjoy their childhood. It highlights the rights of children to thrive, learn, play and be heard.

At the centre of the week is Universal Children’s Day. This day reminds us to uphold the dignity and rights of all children, especially those who face disadvantage or do not have access to the essentials for a safe, happy and healthy life.

This Aboriginal Languages Week, we celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Living Languages, Strong Futures’, recognising Aboriginal communities across NSW who are keeping Language strong through learning, sharing, teaching and speaking Language every day.

We also honour the strength, courage and resilience of those who continued to carry and pass on Language through generations, despite past government policies that sought to silence and disconnect Aboriginal people from Language and culture.

Who remembers this deadly NAIDOC poster celebrating Aboriginal Languages?

“All our languages matter and are important to us as Indigenous Australians. My artwork reflects this year’s theme by incorporating some of the many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations and languages around Australia.”
