🚗 Is your child’s car restraint fitted correctly?

A recent round of free child restraint checks in Parkes, Forbes and Condobolin found that 81% of the 27 child restraints inspected were incorrectly fitted.

The good news? Most issues were minor and easily fixed - but they can make a big difference to your child’s safety in a crash.

Common problems included:
🔸 Twisted harness straps
🔸 Loose seatbelts or ISOFIX connectors
🔸 Loose or twisted top tether straps
🔸 Incorrect use of extension straps or gated buckles

👉 Take a few minutes to check your child’s restraint and make sure it is fitted and adjusted correctly - every time they travel in the car. Whether it’s a five-minute trip or a five-hour journey, your precious cargo deserves to be properly secured.

Local Authorised Child Restraint Fitters can check and install restraints all year round for a small fee:

Like to become a VRA Rescue NSW member ask one of the members on site or download the QR code on site and see the to 2 cars on next site Mid-Western Regional Council with 2 cars at impacted at 60 kms and 100kms see the difference at impact speeds.

Mudgee Rescue Squad (VRA Rescue NSW Mudgee) – InDom Training Day
Another great day of training for our members as they continue developing their skills in preparation for the next stage of upgrading to GLR accreditation.
The day was both informative and enjoyable, with everyone gaining valuable hands-on experience and knowledge.
A special thank you to the Parkes VRA SRG Squad Captain for giving up his time to travel to Mudgee and deliver such professional and practical training. Your support and expertise is greatly appreciated.
Well done to all members for your enthusiasm, commitment, and dedication to continually improving your rescue skills. 👏🚑

Another Successful RCR Training & Assessment Weekend! 🚗🚨
Mudgee Rescue Squad recently hosted a highly successful RCR (Road Crash Rescue) Training and Assessment Weekend, resulting in 8 new RCR-accredited members being added to the VRA Rescue NSW Accreditation Register.
Congratulations to:
5 members from Mudgee Rescue Squad
2 members from Lithgow Rescue Squad
1 member from Metro SRG
Well done to each of you on achieving this important accreditation. Your commitment, dedication, and hard work are a credit to yourselves and your squads.
A big thank you goes to our outstanding Course Coordinator, whose professionalism, knowledge, and guidance helped make the weekend such a success. We also sincerely thank everyone involved in sourcing the vehicles used for the practical training and assessments—your support was invaluable.
To all the trainees and the squad members who assisted throughout the weekend, thank you. Whether you were participating in the assessments or helping behind the scenes, everyone gained valuable knowledge, practical skills, and techniques that will strengthen our rescue capabilities into the future.
