Supporting people to provide safe, healthy homes for their pets delivers social and economic benefits for animals, their caregivers, the housing sector and the wider community.

When families have access to the right information, early support, and practical assistance, issues can be addressed before they escalate and ultimately strengthen outcomes for people and pets.

Enrichment supports an animal’s wellbeing by allowing them to express natural behaviours while staying mentally and physically stimulated. This can include cognitive, dietary, physical, sensory and social enrichment, and mixing things up is important.

When enrichment is limited or repetitive, it can lead to boredom and behaviour challenges such as anxiety, aggression, depression, excessive vocalisation, loss of appetite and isolation.

DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS 💔

Temperatures in a car can rise to dangerous levels and can rapidly reach more than double the outside temperature even on mild days. Tinting, parking in the shade or leaving the windows open do not help to reduce the inside temperature enough.

If you see a dog in a hot car, contact us on 1300 278 358 or your local police as soon as possible.

RSPCA NSW Volunteer Branch and Supporter Group Network

As part of the RSPCA NSW volunteer branch and supporter group network, we’re proud of what we were able to achieve together across the state in the 2024/25 financial year.

With the support of our local communities through fundraising events, donations, and ongoing encouragement, we’ve helped provide vital support to pets and owners across NSW.

The ongoing support from the community makes a real difference to animal welfare in NSW, and we thank you.

We look forward to continuing this work and seeing what we can achieve together in 2025/26.
