Mount Barker parkrun

Mount Barker parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 8am at the Homemaker Centre. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

Mount Barker parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am from the Mount Barker Homemaker Centre, approximately 33km east of Adelaide's CBD. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity f

or all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. We want to encourage people to jog or
run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

What is involved in handing out finish tokens I hear you ask.

Here is a very short video to demonstrate from last week. And with our finish funnel and token support person alongside you - its so easy!

You just need to call out to the timekeeper in the gaps of finishers to keep in sync and you are a pro - just like Lisa here 😃

Let us know if you can help out as our 'finish tokens hander outerer' this Saturday.

Huge thanks to all our volunteers last weekend! You are all legends, and we literally couldn't do it without you!

The roster is still looking thin for the next few weeks, so if you were inspired by these guys and want to help out, take a look at the future roster and see where you'd think you'd fit in.

parkrun.com.au/mountbarker/futureroster

All the roles are fun, easy, and come with full on the spot training!

If you'd like to help out this Saturday we are looking for the following in particular:

First Timer's Welcome
Photographer
Finish Token Support
Barcode Scanners
Token Sorting

All bar Finish Token Support can be done before, during or after completing parkrun so you don't have to miss out on the exercise!

That said, both our Barcode Scanners are planning to run first, so if you'd like to experience the vibe at the finish line as the first runners get back, now is your chance!

Message us using the button below, or email on [email protected] and let us know if you can help out this Saturday, or any Saturday in the future!
