MT BARKER LIBRARY - EVENT TUESDAY 9TH JUNE - SPECIAL GUEST LIZ HARFULL
I’m hoping you can help get the word out about an event I’m doing in Mt Barker on Tuesday (June 9). It’s a Mt Barker Library event but being held at Laratinga, with morning tea provided by the Mount Barker Lutheran Ladies, who are planning to use some recipes from the book.
Aside from sharing some stories connected with The New Blue Ribbon Cookbook, I’m also planning to talk about the lives of some historic women from the district, including Janet Calaby, Ella Cleggett and Margaret Davenport. I discovered Janet’s story as a direct result of being involved in your show this year, and have since been working with the family in Macclesfield to uncover a remarkable story about her life as a single mother, woman farmer and champion dairy produce exhibitor.
