Surf Life Saving Tasmania

Surf Life Saving Tasmania http://www.slst.asn.au Our movement is a part of the history, fabric and future of this country. It protects life, it saves life, it promotes life.

Surf Life Saving in Tasmania is a volunteer based not-for-profit community service association and is the key agency for beach safety in Tasmania. Surf Life Saving Tas provides an essential educational and emergency rescue service to all users of Tasmanian beaches and plays a fundamental role in building healthy communities. Through a new exciting merger, SLST supports the Tasmanian Police with in

land, inshore and offshore search and rescue services state wide. It represents the lifestyle, values and beliefs of the Australian culture. We create a safe environment in and around our beaches, through patrols on, in and above the shore and through education and training programs. Surf Life Saving is the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia. We are a not-for-profit movement that exists only through community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship. Our activities address many community and Government policies such as safer communities, obesity, physical activity, youth development, training and education, and family. Surf Life Saving Tasmania comprises a State centre, 22 Surf Life Saving clubs and services located around the coastline and over 3,000 members who are all committed to saving lives and positively impacting on their local communities. Surf Life Saving Tasmania is afflilated with Surf Life Saving Australia and the International Lifesaving Federation

What a weekend at Clifton Beach! 🌊

More than 30 surf lifesavers from across the state came together for SLST’s Women in Powercraft Program, building IRB skills, confidence and capability across Crew, Driver, and Trainer and Assessor pathways.

Across three days, participants took part in on-water training, developed rescue skills, worked with experienced trainers and mentors, and supported each other along the way.

Feedback from the weekend says it all:
❤️💛 "Amazing support from trainers who really celebrated each of our wins, with applause and high fives.”

❤️💛 “I came away from the weekend feeling empowered and confident.”

A huge thank you to all participants, trainers, mentors, support volunteers and Clifton Beach SLSC for helping make the program such a success.
