CBS also operates Carer Support Services in southern Tasmania, which provides emergency respite, short-term support and pack

It's Refugee Week and this year's theme of A Million Stories reminds us that behind every journey is a story worth celebrating. What better story this week than that of Nestory Irankunda? From a refugee camp in Tanzania to scoring for Australia on the world stage, Nestory's story is one of a million that have helped shape modern Australia. This week, we honour those journeys and commit to a kinder, more welcoming future. 💚💛

Home should feel safe, familiar and easy to move around but small risks can creep in over time. Support at Home now includes funding specifically for home modifications and assistive technology, separate from your regular care budget. CBS helps older Tasmanians understand their options, plan the right changes, and get them installed. A safer home means staying connected to the life you love. Today is World Environment Day and although we're only a teeny little island, we're still connected to a much bigger world that we all share together. Caring for our island also means recognising our connection to that wider world. Every choice we make, big or small, contributes to a healthier planet for everyone. Together, we can protect the places we love and the communities that depend on them. 💚

No we haven't run out of paper 😄 Our art supplies room is very well stocked 😃. The hubs crew tried their hand at a bit of creative fun with some towel art and then enjoyed a nice healthy lunch together. A day well spent indoors in the current gloomy weather, come back summer please!

Volunteering is so often a thankless task and in this ever more hectic world, volunteers are becoming harder to find. That's why it's so important their efforts are recognised, celebrated and appreciated. There's so much care and support in our community being done by amazing people. Let's make sure they are known and they are thanked for all of their amazing contributions.
