MCoT stands with FECCA in supporting multiculturalism as one of Australiaโ€™s most important strengths.

Diversity has always been part of Australiaโ€™s story and continues to enrich our communities, strengthen social cohesion, and build a more inclusive future for all.

We remain committed to respect, inclusion, and equal opportunity for everyone.

Senator Pauline Hansonโ€™s address to the National Press Club, in which she described multiculturalism as a failed policy and called for a โ€œmonoculturalโ€ Australia is of great concern to FECCA.

We reject this completely.

Ms Hansonโ€™s statement about a โ€˜monocultural Australiaโ€™ is an attempt to resurrect the White Australia Policy. FECCA will campaign along with our state and territory members and millions of Australians to reinforce the value of multiculturalism and reject divisive narratives.

We believe this fight is for Australia.

Ticket sales are open for our Women's + Reproductive Health Expo!

The Expo 2026 will offer a welcoming space to connect with services and organisations who focus on all life stages of health of women, people who identify as women and non-binary.

Our visitors will be able to listen to insightful panel discussion, engage with various providers, including Family Planning Tasmania, Women's Health Tasmania, Cancer Council Australia, and more. We believe that timely information can be a powerful tool for prevention of health issues, informed reproductive choices and overall wellbeing. We also strive to support Health Services to improve accessibility to people of all cultural backgrounds and beliefs, with all levels of English, to people who identify as LGBTQI +, and people of all ages and abilities.
This will be a family friendly and fun event with food and various activities. Our venue has a limited space capacity, so please ensure you book your free ticket in advance (link in the comment).

Our Expo is supported by the Tasmanian Government, Healthy Tasmaniaโ€™s Healthy Focus Program, and is a continuation of the ANNUAL WOMENโ€™S EXPO that started in 2024.

โ€‹We appreciate the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania's support in providing artworks to showcase at our event. We will be joined by stallholders from CatholicCare Tasmania and Tasmanian Refugee Legal Service.
Please book your tickets following the link in the first comment. Places are limited due to our venue capacity.
โ€‹As it is a community event, we are always on the hunt for volunteers to help us pack up and tidy up our hub! If you are interested in volunteering after the event, please contact Darya or Sudina at [email protected].
