Help Improve Access to Exercise Information for People Living with Parkinson’s Disease

Two Master of Occupational Therapy students from the University of Tasmania (UTAS), in partnership with Launceston Allied Health, are seeking feedback from people living with Parkinson’s disease in North and North West Tasmania.

The survey aims to understand how people find and access information about exercise and physical activity, and to identify ways to make it more accessible and inclusive for diverse communities.

Four Tasmanians. One ask.

Bron and Glen were put through conversion practices. Miranda Hann is a Tasmanian GP who sees the harm in her patients. Rev Fee Morrison is a Uniting Church minister with a message for every LGBTIQA+ Tasmanian.

Conversion practices are still legal in Tasmania. The Parliament of Tasmania petition to ban them closes Monday 26 October and takes one minute.

This is an in-person event with the Race Discrimination Commissioner addressing the issue of racism at work, followed by a facilitated panel, and afternoon tea.

Crime Stoppers Tasmania: Don't Fall into the Money Trap

Criminals are increasingly using fake job advertisements, social media and promises of easy money to recruit people into money mule schemes.
A money mule is someone who is asked to receive or transfer money through their personal bank account on behalf of another person. While these requests may appear legitimate, they can be linked to serious criminal activity and may have significant legal, financial and visa-related consequences.

International students, job seekers and members of multicultural communities are often targeted through fake job offers that promise flexible work or easy income.
Crime Stoppers Tasmania is supporting the national Don't Fall into the Money Trap campaign to help people recognise the warning signs and protect themselves, their families and their communities.
