A few weeks ago my daughter chose Jessica Watson for a school project.

She watched the movie, researched her journey and then announced last minute, “Mum, I’m making her yacht too!” 😂

It got me thinking about how important role models are for young girls 💕
When girls learn about women who have done brave, adventurous things, it shows them there’s a big world out there, and that they’re capable of more than they realise.

I also think it’s great for them to know more about Australian legends too, like Jessica Watson 👏

If you haven’t watched True Spirit with your daughter, I highly recommend it. We both loved it 💕

Seeing the spots fill and hearing from so many mums has been pretty special 💜

I’m looking forward to creating a relaxed space where girls can learn about puberty, ask questions and feel a little more prepared for what’s ahead… all while having fun!

✨ How cool is this? I’m obsessed. I love it so much, and I love that I’m making time to get creative and do something that’s just fun.

My kids got involved too, and it was so nice hearing them reminisce about artwork they’d made over the years.

Now it’s become something really meaningful in our home 🏡 💕

Honestly wild looking back at how embarrassed we all felt about periods when literally every girl around us was going through the same thing!

Hopefully our girls grow up with less shame around this.. especially today on International Menstrual Hygiene Day!
