Gemco Players Community Theatre

Gemco Players Community Theatre We are a community theatre company set in Emerald, Victoria, with an emphasis on quality performance and a friendly atmosphere.

The name Gemco stands for the townships in the Ranges: Gembrook, Emerald, Monbulk, Macclesfield, Menzies Creek, and Cockatoo Community Theatre. The aims and objectives of Gemco Players are:

To encourage community involvement in the performing arts
To develop skills in all aspects of theatre
To provide live entertainment to the people of Emerald and the surrounding district
To provide a vehicle fo

r locally written productions
To manage and maintain The Gem Community Arts Centre as a community oriented venue for arts related activities, public and private meeting and occassional classes and events as may be requested by various community groups. Gemco Players runs an active youth theatre programme which engages over 100 members. Gemco was the driving force behind the development of The Gem Community Arts Centre which was opened in 2009.

Big news for DROAPF 2026 — monologues are joining the festival! 🎭

We know there are incredible solo performers out there with stories just waiting for the right stage, so this year we're giving it to you. The new monologue section runs on Friday evening, with performances of 10–25 minutes. Entry fee is just $25.

The full festival runs 21–23 August 2026. Entries close 1 July 2026 — don't miss your chance to be part of it.

A huge thank you to our outgoing board at GEMCO Players for the countless hours, passion, creativity, and care you’ve given to our community theatre over the past year. Community theatre doesn’t happen without dedicated volunteers behind the scenes, and we are so grateful for everything you’ve done to keep GEMCO thriving. 💙🎭

From productions and events to meetings, maintenance, planning, and supporting our members, your tireless work has helped create a welcoming and vibrant theatre community for so many people.

We would also like to warmly welcome our new board. We’re excited for the year ahead and look forward to continuing to grow, create, and celebrate theatre together. We are pleased to announce our new board for 2026.
