No, you’re not seeing double, it’s just Logan Hospital’s lookalike mother-daughter duo – Media Director Heidi and Assistant-in-Nursing Lucy! đŸ€©

Promoting the hospital’s good work for more than ten years, Heidi encouraged her daughter to embark on a healthcare career path while she was still at high school.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of amazing clinicians and get to see the impact they can have,” Heidi said. “I’m really proud that my daughter is following in their footsteps and has chosen to study nursing.”

Lucy, who now works as an AIN while she studies to be a registered nurse, said she never thought she’d be carpooling to work with her mum.

“We do everything together, we’re best friends, and now we even get to come to work together,” she said.

This Mother’s Day, Lucy has a special shout-out for her mum and best friend.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better mum. Seeing how hard she works and the effort she puts in to what she does is so inspiring.

“I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without her and the support she shows me every day.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums and mother figures in our community! đŸ©·

One of the most impactful ways you can thank the amazing healthcare professionals of Logan Hospital for your care or the care of someone you love, is by becoming one of our beloved fundraisers.

There are so many ways that people have raised funds over the years from running marathons or other fitness events, morning teas, head shaves, birthday fundraisers and much more. It’s up to you how you choose to raise funds and we’re here to help you at every step.

If you want to raise funds for a specific area or department of the Hospital, like the paediatric ward or emergency department you can also do that.

The “Willow Room” is a dedicated space within Logan Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) providing reprieve for palliative care patients and their families.

Created out of compassion, the Willow Room is a space for palliated patients who are unable to be transferred to the Palliative Care Ward, giving patients and their families privacy and dignity.

Made possible by funding from the Logan Hospital fund, the space has many small touches that make the room a peaceful and inviting environment. One of these are Lisa's Lunches Logan Palliative Care boxes. These are care packages of donated items for families who are unable to leave their loved ones.

It is thanks to Narelle, Sana, and the entire ED End of Life Working Group that families can grieve, reflect, and share meaningful moments together in a setting designed with compassion in mind
