Our Thursday Charity sewing group who meet at our Beenleigh Lair (during school terms) have been very busy sewing up an absolute storm!

From Annette:

"What an absolutely crazy sewing day it was this Thursday at the Beenleigh Lair. We were frantically finishing off our bright bag Christmas gift bags ready to be filled with Christmas joy for all those lucky boys and girls. The girls and I are super proud to say that a whopping total of 105 bags will be heading to Bright Bags QLD by the end of this month!

We had bags of all sizes, bags made from the cutest Christmas fabrics, some from stocking and apron fabric panels and even patchworked bags made from strips of all sorts of Christmas prints. It was so lovely to share the joy with the girls. Well done all !!!"

A massive thank you to the wonderful team at Anaconda Stores Brendale for inviting us along to hold a BBQ and raise funds for our Christmas Project.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to our Christmas Backpack Appeal so far. ❤️

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised enough to purchase approximately 51 backpacks! We’re working on a rough estimate of $10 per backpack, but we’ll be shopping carefully and hoping to stretch every dollar even further.

Our goal is 320 backpacks, which means we still have 269 backpacks to fund, plus all the essential hygiene items that will go inside them.

And this is where we need your help!

Every donation, big or small, gets us another step closer to making sure these backpacks are packed and ready for Christmas.

𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗞𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 – 𝗪𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣!

We’re looking for our wonderful knitting community to help us create some tiny handmade essentials for newborn babies.

We are currently seeking:

🩷 Newborn size (0000) cardigans or matinee jackets
🩷 Newborn size (0000) booties

There is no set pattern to follow. Please use a pattern you know, love and feel comfortable knitting.

🚫 𝗡𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 - we have plenty, so our current need is specifically for cardigans, matinee jackets and booties.

Every little piece will be lovingly passed on to a newborn who needs it. Whether you can make one item or a whole bundle, we would be incredibly grateful for your help.

Packing day 2 complete!

Today we sorted and packed a staggering 3,854 donations which will be heading to 14 organisations in 7 states and territories (sorry ACT, you're the only one who missed out today!)
