🤝💚 Hunter Care Group Partners with nib Thrive & Diabetes Australia to Deliver Industry-Leading Training 💚🤝

Today was a fantastic example of what quality collaboration can achieve, with Hunter Care Group partnering with nib Thrive and Diabetes Australia to deliver specialised Diabetes Management training to 50 of our frontline staff, with the training supported by nib Foundation. 👏

With approximately 20% of participants across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services living with diabetes, ensuring our teams have the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide safe, effective and individualised support is incredibly important.

Today's training provided a valuable opportunity for our staff to learn directly from specialists at Diabetes Australia, strengthening their understanding of diabetes management and how this translates into the everyday supports we provide.

🤝 Partnerships like this are something we genuinely value at Hunter Care Group.

Working alongside nib Thrive and Diabetes Australia to deliver this training, with support from nib foundation, is exactly the type of collaboration we want to continue building. ✅

It's about bringing the right people together, sharing knowledge and investing in our workforce so we can continue improving the quality of support delivered to the people who rely on us.

What an incredible achievement for Australian sport!

The ParaMatildas have booked their place in the 2026 IFCPF Women's World Cup Final, following a remarkable 10–0 semi-final victory over Finland! 🏆👏

Now, our Australian champions are preparing to take on the USA as they look to defend their World Cup title!

These women continue to show what is possible through talent, determination, teamwork and a genuine passion for the game. ⚽

Their success deserves to be celebrated, not just within the disability sporting community, but right across Australia. 🇦🇺

🎉 Celebrating 5 Years with HCG - Blake 🎉

We are proud to celebrate 5 years of Blake being part of the Hunter Care Group team! 💙

Blake joined HCG in 2021 as a Support Worker and has supported a range of participants with dedication, consistency and genuine care.

Since 2021, Blake has continued to grow within HCG and has stepped into the role of SIL Team Leader, where he now supports not only our participants, but also the team around them.
Reaching 5 years service is a milestone worth celebrating, and we are incredibly grateful for the contribution Blake has made to HCG and the people we support along the way.

On behalf of Hunter Care Group, thank you Blake for everything you have brought to the team over the past 5 years.

🎉 Good News Story - Christina Does It Again! 🎉

Last year, we shared Christina’s incredible return to the City2Surf after significant vision loss.
This year, she was back with another goal in mind, to beat her personal best! 🏃‍♀️💪

For the past 3 to 4 months, Christina has been training consistently with her Hunter Care Group support workers, Mitch and Danielle, as she prepared to take on the 14 km course once again.

All that hard work paid off, with Christina completing another City2Surf and achieving a new personal best! 🏅👏

It is a fantastic achievement and a great example of what can come from setting a goal, putting in the work, and having the right support around you.

A huge congratulations to Christina on another incredible City2Surf, and to Mitch and Danielle for supporting her throughout the months of training leading up to the big day. 💙

Angel has been part of HCG for four years, and throughout that time she has continued to grow and strengthen the way she supports both our participants and the wider team. 👏

Angel has been recognised for her excellent communication, genuine and caring approach, and the consistency she brings to her supports.

She is someone our team can rely on and, most importantly, someone who genuinely cares about the people she supports. ✅

💙 Fletcher Sharpe x Hunter Care Group | Part Two 💙

We’re back with Part Two of our series with Hunter Care Group Ambassador Fletcher Sharpe, as he spends time getting to know some of the incredible people we support.

This time, Fletcher spent the day with Susie, who has been supported by Hunter Care Group for the past four years and lives in one of our Supported Independent Living homes. 🏠

Susie has faced some significant challenges throughout her life, but anyone who knows her knows just how much determination she brings to everything she does.

When Susie first came to HCG, she required a wheelchair to get around. Through her own grit and determination, alongside consistent support from her team, Susie has worked incredibly hard to build her mobility and independence. Today, she is up and walking without her chair and has recently taken another huge step forward by beginning studies at TAFE. 👏💙

Just as importantly, Susie has built a strong sense of connection and belonging. She is a regular at HCG events, loves spending time with her peers and is rarely seen without a smile on her face. 🙋‍♀️

Having Fletcher spend time with Susie absolutely made her day. Their lives might look very different, but it quickly became clear they share something in common.

Working hard, setting goals and refusing to let challenges get in the way of what comes next. ✅

This series is about bringing people together, sharing their stories and celebrating what can be achieved with determination, opportunity and the right people alongside you. 👏

🎨💙 Good News Story - Lisa’s Creative Confidence 💙📸

Lisa recently stopped by Hunter Care Group with a very special delivery, some of the beautiful paintings she has been working on and wanted to share with our team. 🎨👏

Lisa has been supported by HCG since 2023, and her confidence and community participation have grown significantly during that time. What started with painting and colouring at home has developed, with the support of her Support Workers, into regularly attending Arts in Recovery, creating alongside others and proudly sharing her work.

Art and photography have become positive creative outlets for Lisa and a great way for her to connect with people in her community. Seeing her confidence grow to the point where she is now actively participating, building connections and sharing her creativity with others is an achievement worth celebrating. 💙

We absolutely loved having Lisa visit and proudly show us what she has been working on. Her paintings will have a special place at HCG!

Well done, Lisa. Keep creating, connecting and sharing your talents. 🌟🖼️
