🌟 Celebrating Service Milestones at Hunter Care Group 🌟

We are proud to recognise a number of team members who have recently reached the milestone of 5 years of service with Hunter Care Group. πŸ‘πŸ’™

In an industry where continuity and relationships matter so much, long-serving staff are always worth celebrating. πŸŽ‰

We strongly believe that consistent staff lead to better outcomes for the people we support. The relationships built over years of trust, understanding, and shared experiences simply cannot be replaced.

What makes us particularly proud is that more than 25% of our workforce has been with HCG for over five years. In the disability sector, that is something quite special. It reflects the culture we have built together and the quality of the people who choose to be part of it. βœ…

The people pictured here, along with many others across our organisation, have helped shape Hunter Care Group into what it is today. Through their dedication, compassion, and commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes, they have made a lasting difference in the lives of countless participants and families. πŸ’™

Here's to the next chapter and many more milestones to come!

🌱🚜 Good News Story - David's Continued Success 🚜🌱

Back in 2024, we shared David's journey as he took the exciting step of launching his own lawn mowing business, Greenos Lawn Care. Since then, David has continued to build on that success and has shown an incredible level of commitment, determination, and pride in his work. πŸ‘

Working closely with his Support Workers and Coordinator of Supports from Hunter Care Group, David has continued to grow both his business and his confidence. Through hard work and persistence, he has built a reputation for delivering lawns and gardens that always look their absolute best. 🌿✨

Running a small business takes dedication, organisation, and resilience, and David continues to demonstrate all of these qualities. It has been fantastic to watch him develop his skills, maintain strong relationships with his customers, and keep moving towards the goals he has set for himself. πŸ’™

To top it off, David has recently upgraded his workwear and is looking every bit the professional business owner. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘•

David, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and the effort you continue to put in every day. Your journey is a great example of what can be accomplished through determination, support, and believing in yourself.

Keep up the fantastic work, mate! πŸŒŸπŸ‘

🍰🧁 The Great HCG SIL Bake Off 2026 🧁🍰

Our SIL homes have been getting into the baking spirit and escaping the winter blues with our annual friendly capacity building challenge, The Great HCG SIL Bake Off! β„οΈπŸ‘©β€πŸ³

Residents across our homes got involved in planning, baking, helping in the kitchen, and sharing their delicious creations with housemates and staff. From cakes and slices to creative desserts and sweet treats, the effort and teamwork on display was fantastic. πŸ‘πŸŽ‚

Events like this are about so much more than baking. They help build everyday life skills at home, encourage teamwork and communication, and create opportunities for residents to build confidence in a fun and supportive environment. πŸ’™

There were plenty of laughs, lots of creativity, and some seriously impressive baking talents shown across the homes.

A huge well done to all residents and staff involved. It has been amazing seeing everyone get involved and enjoy themselves. You are all winners in our eyes! 🌟πŸͺ

🌟 Support Worker of the Month – Nola! 🌟

A huge congratulations to Nola, our Support Worker of the Month! πŸŽ‰

πŸŽ‰πŸ’™ Hunter Disability Expo 2026 Wrap Up πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

What a fantastic two days sponsoring the 2026 Hunter Disability Expo!

We had the opportunity to meet so many new people, connect with participants and families, and catch up with plenty of familiar faces from across the community. Events like these are always a great reminder of how important genuine relationships and strong local connections are. 🀝

Across the weekend we shared conversations about goals, challenges, support options, and the many different pathways people take in building the life they want. Hearing stories, experiences, and future plans from so many people was definitely a highlight for our team. 🌟

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall for a chat, grabbed some information or simply said hello. We truly appreciate the ongoing support from our community and the opportunity to be part of so many journeys.

Thank you to our incredible HCG team members who helped make the weekend such a success. πŸ‘

We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to continuing to support people across the Hunter region to achieve meaningful outcomes and goals that matter to them. πŸ’™

🌺 Anzac Day 2026 🌺

Today we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have defended our nation.

We honour those who gave their lives, those who returned changed, and those who continue to serve today.

We also recognise the families who stood beside them through loss, hardship, and uncertainty. Their strength forms part of the Anzac story.

At Hunter Care Group, we recognise that the freedoms we enjoy today, including the ability to support people living with disability in our community, are a result of those sacrifices.

We are grateful, and we remember.

Lest we forget. πŸ•―πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

🌟 Capacity Building in SIL 🌟

A major focus of our Supported Independent Living program is achieving genuine outcomes and building capacity in a safe, supportive environment. Our approach is not about staff doing things for people, it is about working alongside them and building skills together. πŸ’™

We are incredibly proud of these two gentlemen, who have developed so much independence during their time with us. Both are kind, determined, and always willing to give things a go.

It was fantastic to see them working together to prepare a meal for the house, showing teamwork, confidence, and practical life skills in action. πŸ‘πŸ½οΈ

Moments like these are exactly what we love to see. Well done to both of you, and keep up the great work. 🌟

🎨✨ Good News Story: Lisa’s Creative Achievement ✨🎨

Lisa, who has been supported by Hunter Care Group for the past 5 years, continues to show just how driven, kind, and determined she is through everything she sets her mind to. πŸ’™

Recently, Lisa has taken a huge step forward in her mosaics class, completing an incredible ocean and dolphin themed 3D project that she has been working on since June last year. 🐬🌊

This piece is a big step up from her previous work, with greater complexity, fine detail, and a mix of materials that bring the design to life. Throughout the process, Lisa showed patience, positivity, and resilience, working through challenges and staying focused on her goal. πŸ‘

The final result is something truly special and a reflection of the effort and care she has put in over many months.

Lisa, you should be so proud of what you have achieved. We certainly are. 🌟

❄️ πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Winter Paralympics Wrap Up – Celebrating Team Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ίβ„οΈ

The Winter Paralympics once again showed the world the power of determination, resilience, and elite sport performed by athletes with disabilities. Over the past few weeks we have seen incredible performances from Team Australia, with athletes pushing boundaries and representing the green and gold with pride. πŸ‘

Congratulations to all of the Australian Paralympians who competed across their events. Their achievements remind us how important inclusive sport is and how powerful it can be in inspiring communities everywhere. ❀

We are also proud to give a special shoutout to Newcastle’s own Lauren Parker, who represented Australia in cross-country skiing and biathlon. Lauren continues to break barriers as a Paralympian, showing what is possible through dedication and hard work. πŸ™Œ

The Paralympics celebrate ability, courage, and determination. Congratulations to Team Australia and every athlete who competed. Your achievements inspire people across the country. πŸ’šπŸ’›
