🕷️Spider-man, Spider-man, does whatever a spider can!

Including going to an awesome movie night, celebrating our beloved superhero, the friendly neighbourhood Spider-man. I think it's safe to say, everyone had a wonderful afternoon and evening under the stars!

❓How did you go with the trivia questions? Lots of prizes were up for grabs, we hope you enjoyed the games and the prizes. The 4 Corners game proved very popular. It was lots of fun!

🦸Thank you to those who got dressed up in their favourite superhero outfit, you looked wonderful and made it very hard to choose the winners of our best dressed competitions.

🙏A big thank you to our volunteers for making this such a fun and successful night:
Jenelle Harrington
Grant Sommerfeld
Karen Boulton-Gorry
Catherine Boulton
Selwyn Connell
Dorelle Rider
Peter Boulton

📢Just want to give an extra shout out to Karen Boulton-Gorry. This was a youth week event and she did a fantastic job of putting the games together, organising the prizes and having the courage to jump up in front of a crowd on event day. It takes a lot of courage and confidence, stepping outside your comfort zone, and so well done to you Karen!

🏆And of course, THANK YOU to our sponsor for supporting this event, without your help these events couldn't be as fun and amazing as they are:

* Fraser Coast Regional Council - for providing in-kind sponsorship and waiving the fees associated with the event running. These extra costs being waived mean we can make the event more financially viable and spend extra $$ on cool stuff like prizes and games.

🍿🥤A shout out to our fabulous food/drink vendors, giving us plenty of yummy treats to enjoy throughout the event:
* Let's Taco Bout It
* Louis V's
* Twisted Ice
* Mr Whippy

Mary Movie Nights just wouldn't be the same without our food/drink vendors, so we thank them so much for coming along to feed the crowds. We hope you had a good night and got a chance to watch the movie as well. :D

🎥Mary Movie Nights events are proudly brought to the community by the Maryborough City Progress Association Inc. We are always looking for new members to join - we have a lot of fun at our events. If you're interested in becoming a member, please send an email to our Secretary: [email protected]

🎅Ho Ho Ho, just reminiscing about the fantastic Christmas movie night we had on the 20/12/25 watching The Santa Clause!! It's an oldy, but very much a classic Christmas movie and the kids loved it.

I think you'll agree, the highlight was Santa and Mrs Claus arriving in vintage style and with a sack full of little gifts. Thank you Santa for jumping on the microphone to say a few words to the kids too. We had some very excited kiddo's waiting to see Santa & Mrs Claus.

We also had some fabulous Christmas dress ups. It was so hard to choose the winners, we even had to create a new category on the night as there was just so many entries!

A big thank you to our volunteers for making this such a fun and successful night:
Jenelle Harrington
Grant Sommerfeld
Peter Boulton
Catherine Boulton
Karen Boulton
Jasmine Tracey
Dorelle Rider
Shaun Tracey

🎅🤶Thank you to Santa and Mrs Claus for taking some time out of their hectic schedule (just before Christmas), to spread some cheer to our movie patrons.

🚗Thank you Greg Watson for being Santa & Mrs Claus' driver, bringing the "vintage sleigh". The car looked wonderful arriving into the park.

📹Thank you to Kyle from KJ Videography and Photography for producing this great little video capturing the festive fun of the night.

And of course, a big THANK YOU to our sponsors for supporting this event, without your help these events couldn't be as fun and amazing as they are:

* Fraser Coast Regional Council - a huge THANK YOU for providing us with a Festive Community Grant which gave us the funding to run this event, plus the in-kind fee waivers they provide which helps us to make the event low-cost to the community. They also included our event in the Festive events calendar for the Fraser Coast for which we are very appreciative.

* Daryl & Leilani Hemming - community sponsors who provide donations to support the movie nights.

🍿A shout out to our fabulous food/drink vendors, giving us plenty of yummy treats to enjoy throughout the event:

What a spooktacular night we had at the Halloween movie night!

The eerie clouds hanging around (but no rain thankfully!) plus the local bats making an appearance, very spooky indeed.

I think the highlight was Frank's "Pick Or Treat" game. Who knew picking Frankenstein's nose was so much fun, though a few kids were a bit hesitant to pick his nose. (I think they were worried about picking a real bo**er! ewww)

A big shout out to all the kids who got dressed up to celebrate the fun of Halloween with us. You all looked fabulous! Congratulations to our Best Dressed winners too.

🎃MOVIE NIGHT CANCELLED THIS SATURDAY NIGHT 1/11/25 😭
New Movie Night Date: Saturday 08/11/25

We don't like cancelling events and it's not a decision we make lightly. Many volunteer hours go into organising these events, so we only cancel if we really need to.

⛈ In saying that, looking at the forecasted weather for this weekend, cancelling was a no-brainer, it had to be done to maintain the safety and comfort of our patrons, volunteers and vendors, not to mention our equipment (which doesn't really like water) - plus we're thinking no one wants to sit out in the pouring rain with sloshy wet grass between their toes to watch a movie. We may not get the full forecasted weather, but we're not willing to take the chance.

So we will attempt to run our event again next weekend on Saturday 08/11/25. All the same spookiness and fun that we should be having this weekend - just next weekend. Don't forget to come dressed in your favourite Halloween costume to be in the running to win a prize!

👀 See you all next weekend for some spooktacular fun with Poppa Drac and the crew! Bleh ble-blehh 🧛‍♂️

Queensland, a 5 day severe thunderstorm outbreak will begin this afternoon. Here is where storms are forecast to occur, and what you can expect in your region day by day.

The next five days will bring severe thunderstorm activity to Queensland and parts of New South Wales pretty much every afternoon looking ahead, with the Sunshine Coast, Burnett and Fraser Coast set to cop the most storm activity in the next five days. The big one will be on Saturday afternoon, where powerful severe thunderstorms are likely through Southeast Queensland, including Brisbane.

THURSDAY (tonight)
Isolated and scattered thunderstorms will likely blow up in the South Burnett region around Kingaroy up to Gympie, with some severe storms possible. It's a very favourable set up for storms thermodynamically speaking, but CAPE values (between 800-1000) will hold today back. If those numbers were higher, we would be looking at some seriously powerful storms north of Kingaroy, inland from the Glasshouse Mountains and up to Gympie. The chance is there, so I do recommend watching the radar closely this arvo. Storms in Brisbane are unlikely.

FRIDAY (tomorrow)
Overall much more conducive to severe storm development, Friday could bring some scattered storms and isolated severe storms to similar areas from the day before, extending up into the mountains adjacent to the Capricornia Coast (Mount Perry, Gympie, Gyandah etc). There is more instability but the environment isn't as conducive to severe storms. Friday could go either way, and I do expect at least a few severe storms to develop around Gympie and for areas further north in the outline.

SATURDAY (the big one)
Very high chances of an extensive severe storm outbreak, with supercell storms bringing large hail and destructive winds along with heavy rain and the chance of tornadoes, now expected through much of Southeast Queensland, south Central Queensland, the Capricornia Fraser and Sunshine Coasts, and into the North and central Coast of NSW right down to Wollongong, including a chance for Sydney and Newcastle. Severe storms will be widespread particularly inland from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. While the most intense supercell activity may develop slightly inland toward Ipswich, Toowoomba and Gympie, coastal areas are still very likely to experience powerful thunderstorms. Expect the potential for large hail, intense rainfall and damaging winds, as storms rapidly develop from early afternoon and form large squall lines by evening — similar to last weekend’s outbreak.

SUNDAY
Another pretty potent set up for strong storms especially north of Brisbane through the Sunshine Coast, Burnett and Capricornia regions extending north to Rockhampton, however likely to be held back by dry air sweeping in and some high cloud cover left over from the previous storms. It's a day that could again go either way, and we will wait and see what the models have to say as Sunday draws closer. The amount of CAPE (instability 3000j/kg) is quite concerning and even a slight improvement in the outlook could bring some gnarly stuff.

MONDAY
Isolated non severe storms possible in northern New South Wales, very dependent on a low sweeping in from the west that will bring rain in its wake. It's a wild card, and likely not something to be concerned about right now.

Thats for taking a read all. Monday's outlook is pretty uncertain, but the rest of them look pretty solid. I'll keep you posted on what happens. Cheers Josh

Didn't we have an awesome time at the Minecraft Movie night!!

We heard some cracking renditions of 'Steve's Lava Chicken' both before the movie and during the movie, the balloon pop game was extremely popular as kids picked a green or black balloon from our minecraft box, popping it to find their surprise gift. Pop quiz sorted out the kids from the adults ;) the kids win!

Not to forget nearly the whole crew of kids shouting "CHICKENJOCKEY" during the movie, gave us all a good laugh.

A big thank you to our volunteers for making this such a fun and successful night:
Jenelle Harrington
Grant Sommerfeld
Peter Boulton
Catherine Boulton
Karen Boulton
Dorelle Rider
Steve Sykes
Jessica Roberts

Thank you to Kyle from KJ Videography and Photography for producing this fabulous little video capturing the fun of the night and some great photos.

And of course, a huge THANK YOU to our sponsors for supporting this event, without your help these events couldn't be as fun and amazing as they are:

* Fraser Coast Regional Council - for providing a Community Grant which allowed us to pay for the movie license, music license, advertising, all the cool new oversized games we were able to play with. Plus the new wireless microphones which allows us to get into the crowd more and enabled us to play the now infamous 'Steve's Lava Chicken' game!!! And the keen-eyed among you may have noticed our fabulous new MCPAI polo shirts, we're now looking sharp and like a team! So thank you FCRC for providing this amazing grant funding to support these community movie nights.

* Daryl & Leilani Hemming - community sponsors who provide a donation to each of our events and for which we're very appreciative of their ongoing support for the events we do! Thank you.

A shout out to our fabulous food/drink vendors, giving us plenty of yummy treats to enjoy throughout the event:
