Jasper clearly thinks he is one of the big kids already. 😂🐨

At 1.1 kg, he is around 100 g heavier than Logie and Gumnut and certainly seems to think that makes him all grown up. He still has a lot of growing to do yet!

Sadly, two days after Jasper was found alone calling for his mum, her body was discovered. There was no obvious explanation for her death.

The vets at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital are incredibly busy, but if time permits, they may perform a necropsy to try to determine what happened to her.

For now, Jasper is safe, growing well and becoming quite the confident little character. 💚🐨

After receiving expert care from the wonderful team at Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, Lotti was ready to return home.

There’s nothing better than watching an adult koala climb back into the trees where she belongs. Welcome home, Lotti!

Logie and Gumnut have become the sweetest little best friends.

There’s something very special about watching two orphaned joeys find comfort and security in each other. Whether they’re sharing a basket, snuggling up for a sleep or simply staying close, these two are rarely far apart.

After such difficult beginnings, seeing them safe, settled and so content together is just beautiful.

Best friends already. ❤️🐨🐨

From a very vulnerable start to the moment we all hoped for.

Boonie came into care on 16 January 2026 after being found on the ground by campers with no mum in sight. He weighed just 1.56 kg and was dehydrated, with lung changes suggestive of pneumonia or trauma.

His journey through treatment and rehabilitation took more than seven months.

A few days ago, Boonie was finally ready to return home.

Watching him leave care and climb back into the trees was such a special moment — and a wonderful reminder of why wildlife rescue and rehabilitation matters.

Sunday Somerset is finally home.

Found alone, injured and covered in maggots, she had a long road ahead of her. With specialist veterinary care, plenty of milk and fresh leaf, she slowly grew stronger and more independent.

Today she was returned to the bush where she belongs — and with all those trees to choose from, it was the smallest sapling that tempted her first.

Jasper, Gumnut and Logie enjoying some beautiful winter sunshine together.

Sunshine is an important part of their care, providing natural vitamin D as well as warmth and enrichment.

Jasper is a little older than Gumnut and Logie, who are so similar in size and age they are almost like twins. It has been lovely watching the three of them settle in together — they are all friends now and very happy to share some sunshine, fresh leaf and quiet time together.
