Black Coffee brings together Aboriginal businesses, local organisations, government and the wider business community in a relaxed setting to connect, build relationships and share opportunities.

Following our successful funding application for the Aboriginal Ranger Program Round 9 with DBCA, we're excited to be expanding the Winjan Bindjareb Rangers team!

We're currently recruiting for:
🌱 1 x Ranger Supervisor
🌱 4 x Rangers

📍 Location: Mandurah, WA (working across Bindjareb Boodja)

If you're passionate about caring for Country, strengthening culture, working on meaningful environmental projects, and making a real difference alongside community, we'd love to hear from you.

🎨 There's still time to experience Drawn to Country 👏🏾

If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, there's still plenty of time to explore Drawn to Country: First Nations Comic Books in WA, presented in Mandurah by the City of Mandurah.

Showcasing the creativity, storytelling and artistic talent of First Nations creators from across Western Australia, this exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect and celebrate culture through a unique and engaging art form.

If you're looking for something to do over the last week of the school holidays, be sure to stop by Mandurah Museum before the exhibition closes!

Today marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week 2026.

This year we celebrate 50 Years Deadly, honouring five decades of NAIDOC and the strength, pride, culture and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

At Winjan Aboriginal Corporation, we honour our Elders, celebrate our communities and remain committed to sharing, protecting and strengthening Noongar culture here on Bindjareb Boodja.

We wish everyone a safe, meaningful and deadly NAIDOC Week.

The City of Mandurah Youth team has put together a fantastic afternoon celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC, bringing young people together through culture, music, hands-on activities and connection.

If you know a young person aged 11 to 17, be sure to encourage them to come along and get involved.

Makuru at Winjan 🌧️💧🌿

As we pass the midpoint of Makuru, we reflect on the wonderful visit we shared with the Year 7 students from Coodanup College earlier this season as they continued their Noongar Six Seasons journey.

During this visit, students joined us to:
🎨 Learn Noongar symbols representing local plants, animals and tracks, and the stories they tell.
🌿 Create their own artworks by painting these symbols onto natural paperbark.
🪵 Decorate ho**ey nuts using traditional-inspired designs and patterns.
✍🏽 Practise drawing Noongar symbols and storytelling through sand tray activities.

It was wonderful to see the students' confidence continuing to grow as they recognised symbols, used Noongar language throughout the activities, and expressed their own creativity while learning about culture and Country.

We are proud to continue sharing Noongar language, culture and knowledge with the next generation as the students progress through each of the Six Noongar Seasons.
