Are you interested in radio, interviews, storytelling, media or just having a go at something different?

The Youth Media Crew is putting together a team for the 2026 Open Streets Festival in Macksville on Saturday 19 September 2026. We’re looking for young people aged 14 to 24 to get involved in capturing the stories, people and atmosphere of this exciting community event.

This is a hands-on opportunity to learn basic interview skills, work with recording equipment, build confidence and gain real-world experience in media and content creation. Youth participants will receive training before the festival and mentoring and support on the day.

The interviews and content recorded at the festival will be edited and shared through the Open Streets Festival’s social media platforms and provided to 2NVR FM. Content may include interviews, short videos, photos, vox pops and other stories from the event.

As part of the Youth Media Crew, you may:

- Conduct scheduled interviews with festival organisers, performers, stallholders and community members
- Do vox pop-style interviews with people attending the festival
- Work with portable audio equipment, mobile video and microphones
- Help capture the atmosphere, activities and stories of Open Streets
- Create content for social media and online platforms
- Work as part of a team to help tell the story of the festival.

You can register if you:

- Are aged 14 to 24
- Are interested in media, radio, interviewing, video, photography or storytelling are keen to learn and have a go
- Are available for the Open Streets Festival in Macksville on Saturday 19 September 2026.

No previous media experience is required — just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to get involved!

FEATURED ARTIST: THE REDEEMED + THE VALLEY LINE DANCERS

We can't wait to hear .band & The Valley Line Dancers at the upcoming Nambucca Valley Open Streets Festival!

The Redeemed are a Bellingen indie-country band turning heads with heartfelt songwriting and engaging live shows. Blending blues-rock grit with a warm country-folk heart, they layer soaring harmonies over driving rhythms, with banjo and mandolin adding rich, acoustic sparkle.

Since forming in 2023 the band have released four singles, receiving nationwide airplay and charting on AMRAP, cementing their growing presence on the Australian independent music scene.

Alongside their releases, The Redeemed have built a strong live reputation, playing extensively across the Mid North Coast and appearing at numerous venues and festivals.

Winners of Best Bush Ballad at the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards in Tamworth, they deliver stirring, relatable songs built for singalongs.

The Redeemed will be joined on stage by the wonderful Valley Line Dancers, a local Nambucca Valley group who perform regularly across the region. The dancers previously featured in The Redeemed’s Backwards Country Town music video, filmed at Argents Hill Hall, and are excited to reunite with the band for this special performance — inviting everyone to get involved and bootscoot along with them.

FEATURED ARIST: TEMPERATE

We were lucky enough to have play at the last Nambucca Valley Open Streets Festival and now they're returning again for our Spring Festival!

Temperate is a female fronted rock band from Coffs Harbour that over the last 3 years has gone from a high school jams to headlining shows across the country and sharing the stage with Australia's top artists including Tones And I, Spider Bait, Eskimo Joe, Rose Tattoo,The Screaming Jets, You Am I and more. The rock act have had the opportunity to work alongside agencies including New World Artists, Lonely Lands Agency and Select Music, However have made all achievements being fully independent.

The band has released their debut EP, and singles included on their sophomore EP set to be released at the end of 2026. They are currently working towards a 10 track album for 2027.

Temperate is also set for their first international tour of Japan in October this year. The best is always yet to come with this squad with more exciting news and big plans leaning into 2027 !! The mission ? To revive the essence of rock n roll with a fresh yet nostalgic sound to Aussie music.

We're very lucky to have Purple Disturbance playing at the festival as a part of their BUGALUGS EP TOUR!
