Our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support students at Macksville had the privilege of learning from a very special guest speaker, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ, who came to NV College to share her experience of living with a disability. ๐ฃ๏ธโจ
๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ lives with dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes uncontrollable, involuntary muscle contractions that affect her movement and speech.
She knows exactly what she wants to say, but at times she canโt always speak easily.

Joined by her support worker, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ, ๐ฎ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ก๐ฉ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐, Margie spoke about the communication strategies that work for her, assistive devices, and why truly person-centred support is never one-size-fits-all. ๐ฌ๐ค
