Does your Sunday look a little something like this? Maybe you need a Georgia in your life. 🧡

Georgia is a tiny warrior with the sweetest gummy grin, and after everything she’s been through, she’s finally ready to find her forever home.

She may be a little older than some of our kittens, but what she lacks in teeth she makes up for in personality! 😹 She’s a toy-chasing, food-loving, trilling little entertainer who loves a good lounge-room hangout and has a seriously impressive purr once she trusts you.

Georgia adores the resident cats in her foster home, but she could also be happy as your one-and-only. She’s looking for a quiet, patient, child-free home where she can take her time to settle in and show you just how special she is.

Maple is putting her best smile forward because she’ll be at Petstock Pimpama this weekend, hoping to meet her person!

This gorgeous little torbie is a professional face-booper, leg-boofer, pat-seeker and creamy-treat enthusiast. She’ll happily roll around for pats and purr her little heart out, with just enough tortie attitude to keep things interesting.

Look at beautiful Skittles, one of our long-term foster cats at Little Paws.

The first photo was taken in Skittles' early years with us. She looks frightened and unsure of the world. The second is our gorgeous senior girl today - still a quiet and shy cat, but looking so much more hopeful and content.

Skittles arrived at Little Paws from the Logan Pound in October 2014. She has always preferred to quietly keep to herself. More than a decade later, Skittles is spending her senior years in comfort and with dignity. She is fed, warm, cared for and loved.

Kiki is a beautiful black cat with a velvet soft coat. She has striking green eyes and cute tufted ears. She is two years young and loves to play with her teaser toy and chase her ball. She rubs against your legs to tell you that she is ready for pats. She loves to keep watch from the cat pole or relax on a comfortable chair. But she will come running when it is tea time or the treat packet is shaken.

Our Little Paws President and Vice President, Deb and Laurelle, would probably be horrified that we’re making a fuss about them. But we think they deserve it.

For years, they have quietly been taking care of little lives, looking after our long-term sponsor cats, supporting our incredible foster carers and being there whenever our team needs a hand.

Little Paws is, in so many ways, kept going by Deb. And the work never ends. When one cat finds their forever home, or another passes away from illness or old age, there is always another little life that needs her. And she opens her home to them again. There is also countless trips to the vet, sleepless nights taking care of sick or vulnerable cats, surrender requests to respond to, foster carers needing help, and SO much admin.

Together, Deb and Laurelle have given thousands of cats and kittens love, comfort and dignity, from birth right through to the very end.

So much of what they do happens quietly, behind the scenes, and without thanks. But their care, commitment and compassion inspire all of us.

Here they are completely absorbed in playing with a very cute kitten last week. 🥹

Meet Zeus! 🖤

Some cats arrive at the pound looking for a second chance. Others arrive having never really been given a first one. Zeus is one of those boys.

This big, handsome street cat was dropped at the pound and, sadly, his future was looking incredibly grim. Zeus was considered not adoptable, and without rescue intervention, there simply wasn’t a happy ending waiting for him.

Then we received a phone call from the pound. They were desperate for us to help this grumpy-looking gentleman, and honestly… we only had to take one look at that face! Those magnificent jowls, those squinty little eyes and that unmistakable “I have seen things and I don’t trust you” expression. It was love at first hiss.

Zeus has clearly lived a tough life on the streets. His enormous tomcat jowls are basically his street credentials.

So now begins the hard and hopefully rewarding part of Zeus’s journey: teaching this big street boy that not every human is out to get him.

We’re going to give him time, patience, space and plenty of love and let Zeus set the pace. Our hope is that, just like some of our other street boys like Boris the Bruiser, we will slowly start to see those walls come down and discover the gorgeous boy hiding underneath the tough exterior.

So welcome to Little Paws, Zeus. We have no idea where this journey will take us, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to be one heck of a transformation.

Celeste came into our care after a local pound reached out for help, explaining that this gentle five‑year‑old Persian wasn’t healthy enough to enter their adoption program. She arrived in heartbreaking condition — her teeth were so damaged she required a major dental, her coat was so severely matted it had to be shaved, revealing painful sores from a heavy flea infestation. While undergoing her dental and desexing, vets also discovered a grade 3 heart murmur.

Despite everything she has endured, Celeste remains sweet, trusting, and so deserving of a future filled with comfort and love. We’re seeking sponsors to support her ongoing recovery, and with careful monitoring of her heart, we hope she will one day be well enough to find her forever home.
