Pink Unicorn Foundation The Pink Unicorn Foundation is committed to raising funds and collecting donations to help provide education & hygiene options in 3rd world communities.

Hello, I’d like to introduce myself,
My name is Bec Milward, founder of the Pink Unicorn foundation; we are a non for profit organisation who is committed to providing educational materials & hygiene products to disadvantage children and their communities. The current project we are working on is to rebuild a Kindy in Yandina, Solomon Islands. I visited the island with a mission group in May this

year, we were there to teach the woman how to sew cloth sanitary pads and we donated sewing machines, fabrics ect, to help them create an option to make and sell these items at the markets to generate an income for the community. Whilst there it was hard not to notice not only the state of disrepair of the entire island, the state of the housing and the conditions the community lives in, but to see the state of building that the youngest members of the community are expected to learn and thrive in was heartbreaking. We intend to send a build team over next year and are in need of some supplies. If there is any way your company may be able to help, please let me know. We will present you with a certificate of appreciation which you can display and we will also use social media to advertise our appreciation to your support. Other then monetary donations, here is the list of supplies needed;
Shipping container; for storage of items until we can ship them over (my spare room is already full)
School Bags x 500; there are aprox 400 students at the primary & high school and aprox 30 at the kindy, I intend to fill each bag with stationary, educational materials and hygiene products to present to them when we go over if not sooner. Educational Books; old encyclopaedias, text books ect anything useful (English is their schooling language) the school library for the 400 students made me cry. Stationary supplies; exercise books, paper, pencils, pens, scissors, ruler, pencil case, crayons ect
Building materials; Roofing – colourbond sheeting, guttering, poly pipe anything we can fit in the container
Tools; any hand tools, some electrical would be ok as there is a couple of generators on the island, no electricity
Generator; as there is no electricity, we would really like a couple more generators for them, one for the hospital clinic and one for the kindy, they can then use the kindy for night schooling for the adults. Playground equipment; for the kindy
Hygiene products; Toothbrushes, toothpaste, antibacterial soap, clothes washing powder ect
Towels, hand towels, faces washers. Good second hand items, factory 2nds, scratch & dent or new, anything is better than nothing! Any amount of any of the above would be greatly appreciated. My biggest goal is to provide the kids with the education and the tools to increase the opportunities for them and their families. Helping improve their quality of living even slightly could change this whole community. Every little bit helps. Thank you so much for even considering helping our cause. I hope to hear from you soon. All the best. Bec Milward
