A great group of local voices coming together, sharing ideas and working towards positive change for children and families across Central Logan.

Our Steering Group brings community members and local partners together to listen, learn and turn ideas into action.

The Central Logan Focus Community Steering Group meets monthly to share ideas, have conversations and work together on what matters to our community.

Last week we had some great conversations around community voice and co-design, and how we can turn the ideas shared by our community into practical action.

Take a look at our latest snapshot to see what's been happening!

Looking for something fun to do with your little ones this week? Head along to The Family Place to play, connect and celebrate what makes childhood so special.

🌺 What a beautiful time celebrating our older generation at the Village Connect MOA Lūʻau last week!

It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate culture, share laughter and honour the wisdom and knowledge of our older generation.

Village Connect does so much to support children, families, young people and elders across our community, with a strong focus on culture, connection and making sure people feel supported and valued.

πŸ“ Where to find Village Connect

Village Connect is based at Unit 13/390 Kingston Road, Slacks Creek, and offers a range of supports, including:

πŸ’œ Support for elders and seniors' activities
πŸ‘Ά Early childhood, child health and playgroup programs

🌺 Cultural connection and community activities
🀝 Emergency relief and connections to other services
πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘ Programs for young people and families

Some programs and activities also take place at other community locations, so it's worth contacting the team to find out what's available near you.

What a brilliant morning at our Central Logan One Stop Shop! πŸ’›

It was so lovely to see our community turn up, connect and make the most of the support available. From booking appointments and signing up for services to getting referrals and having a chat about what support is out there, people were able to take those next steps with support right there on the day.

A huge thank you to all the services who came along and to everyone in our community who joined us. It was a great reminder of what can happen when we bring support together in one place and make it easier for families to access what they need. 🫢

This is what community-led work looks like β€” listening to what our community needs and bringing people together to make it happen.

It was lovely for Central Logan Focus Community to connect with the Crestmead Advisory Group and spend time with people who care about our local community. πŸ’› It’s these connections, conversations and shared ideas that help us work together to make a difference for local children and families.

Our Crestmead Community Advisory Group came together last Monday at the PCYC Crestmead Neighbourhood Centre.

We were fortunate enough to have leaders from the Samoan and First Nations community, along with representatives from homeless, settlement, and children's health services join us to discuss the real issues that each organisation's stakeholders face every day in Logan.

Important networking connections were made and existing connections were strengthened. Importantly, it gives us all insights into how we may best direct out efforts and funding to ensure we are enriching the lives of the communities that we serve.
