Tweed Landcare Inc have short term role available for someone with a knack for engaging social media content.

🌿SEEKING Social Media Event Assistant — Roving Landcare Project
Paid Short-term contract | September – November 2026

Brunswick Valley Landcare and Tweed Landcare are seeking a creative, organised Social Media Event Assistant to document an exciting environmental volunteer program for 18–30 year olds, running across Byron and Tweed Shires on Saturdays between September and November.

We're looking for someone to capture the energy of these events and turn them into compelling content for our social channels, newsletters and reports.·

When: Attendance at a total of 10 events, every Saturday, 9am–1pm, 19 September – 21 November 2026. * must be available to attend all events.

Contract start date: 19th September 2026

Upper Richmond Waterway and Wetland Health Asessement and Action Plan

Kyogle Council is seeking community feedback on the draft Upper Richmond Waterway and Wetland Health Assessment and Action Plan.

The Health Assessment provides an overview of the current condition of waterways and wetlands across the Upper Richmond catchment. The Action Plan identifies priority management actions and opportunities to improve waterway and wetland health into the future.

Before making a submission, we encourage you to:

read the draft Health Assessment and Action Plan
explore the interactive web map to view waterway health information, priority areas and proposed management actions across the catchment.

Feedback received during the public exhibition period will be considered in finalising the Action Plan before it is presented to Kyogle Council for adoption.

As part of BRRVLN's involvement in the North Coast Regional Seedbank, we are on the lookout for Acacia seed this Spring. We are expecting the first Acacia's in the Northern Rivers to set seed this season will be Acacia complanata, Acacia disparrima, Acacia falcata and Acacia maidenii. We welcome any eyes on the ground to let us know when they are ready for harvest.

Applications for these grants close 20th Sept

Applications are now open for NRCF’s 2026-2027 Annual Community Grants Round 🌱

Grants of up to $15,000 are available to support community-led projects across the Northern Rivers.

This year, funding is available through two streams:

1️⃣ Local Impact Grants
For activities, events, programs and services that create positive social or environmental change, as well as initiatives that build organisational capacity.

2️⃣ Community Infrastructure Fund
For the purchase of assets and infrastructure that help create more connected and inclusive regional communities.

Organisations can submit one application only, so be sure to choose the stream that best fits your project.

Applications close Sunday 20 September 2026.

What a great day with Naughtons Gap Landcare on the Northern Rivers Rail Trail yesterday. 17 enthusiastic volunteers weeding and working magic to bring this zone to fruition as a wildlife corridor / healthy grassy forest alongside the trail.

Max Watt from Goanna Ecological offered some great tips on identification of native grasses and efficiency techniques in restoration practice.

The weather looks very kind for the working bee along the Naughtons Gap section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail tomorrow morning. If you're riding by and up for stopping to lend a hand for an hour, we would welcome any support. 9-12 on the southern side of the hill - north of the Naughtons Gap Road bridge.
