Naughtons Gap Landcare Working Bee coming up on June 13th - 9am till Noon supporting Conservation Action along the Rail Trail.

Please consider joining us for a morning of easy w**d control maintenance and become a part of the vision of a healthy native wildlife corridor along side the trail.
The revegetation action along the Casino to Bentley Rail trail is an inspiring venture. All of the planting achieved so far is starting to display the vision.

This has been supported by funding from the NSW Government through Friends of the Koala and Richmond Valley Council to assist with site preparation for planting and covering the costs of plants.
However, this has all been made possible thanks to the generous support of a handful of volunteers to get the plants in the ground and keep the annual w**ds in check so the planted natives can do their thing.

No prior registration required. Just rock up to the Naughtons Gap zone of the Rail Trail (south of the tunnel - near the bridge) with your own gloves and suitable clothes for working in the wilds.

Volunteer efforts will be supervised by bush regenerator Max Watt from Goanna Ecological with support from an Australia Post People of Post grant. His expertise will help you sharpen your id skills to catch the difference between the celebrated native grasses and the pesky w**ds.

🌱 Community Planting Day – Anzac Park Lagoon 🌱

Kyogle Council is inviting the community to take part in an important environmental regeneration project at Anzac Park Lagoon on Wednesday 13 May.

Community members are asked to join in planting 1,400 native grasses and sedges along the lagoon edge and drainage line. These works will help improve water quality, strengthen the lagoon banks and support local biodiversity.

The planting follows the successful manual removal of Water Hyacinth from the lagoon last year by a local bush regenerator and team. The plants have been locally grown and supplied by Kyogle Landcare, and the good news is that all holes will be pre-dug.

These works form Stage 2 of the Lagoon Site Action Plan, funded by Kyogle Council.
