Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters Want to improve your public speaking skills? Do it in a fun, friendly, and encouraging environment at Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters. Hope to see you soon!

At Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters, we pride ourselves on running our meetings with fun and professionalism. Most of us joined the club so that we could achieve promotions, gain confidence speaking in front of groups (at uni, in the workplace, or socially), and generally feel like communicative superheroes. Overall, the aim of our club is to support every member to develop and reach their goals, whatever they might be. If you're curious, come as a guest to one of our meetings and check out what our club has to offer, meet the members, and see what you think - the first meeting you attend is without any cost or obligation. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:15pm ( for a 7.30pm start) at the Highett Neighbourhood Community House, 2 Livingston Street, Highett VIC 3190. P.S: More details regarding our Club can be seen at our website:

Life is moving faster than ever in the AI era. Are our communication skills keeping up?

This year, work has been changing rapidly as AI transforms how we work, keeping many of us busier than ever. Flu season has also affected many members.

Yet, through the goodwill and extra effort of our club officers and members, Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters continues to show up, support one another, and grow together.

We’ve run our club contests, and our winners will represent Moorabbin Saints at the Area Contest in a few weeks in November. Congratulations, and well done to everyone who has contributed! 👏

Through clear communication, we build understanding, empathy, and stronger connections enabling us to achieve more together as a team.

The skills we practise in the room extend far beyond the room, benefiting our work, relationships, and everyday lives.

Keep learning. Keep communicating. Keep growing.

Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters is a great room to be in! ❤️

What if the hardest part of change isn’t the change itself, but learning to trust ourselves through it?

This week, Moorabbin Toastmasters Club is holding our contest.

This year, more people seem to be busier than usual. With workplace restructuring and constant change, many of us are spending more time adapting to new roles, new systems, and new priorities.

Work and family naturally come first, leaving less time for personal development.

But perhaps times of change are exactly when we need to keep developing ourselves.

Every time we say YES to something unfamiliar, we build another layer of confidence.

Saying YES to public speaking is one big yes to building confidence.

We learn that feeling awkward, struggling, making mistakes and even failing doesn’t mean we can’t do it. It simply means we’re still learning.

That’s what Toastmasters has taught me:

Speak when your words aren’t perfect.
Speak when you’re not confident yet!
Fail. Learn. Do it again.

Do it again and again, and eventually, the difficult becomes less difficult. The complexity becomes more simple.

The next time something challenging comes along, we can say:

“I’ve felt this nerve-wracking experience before. I know I can get through it.”

Maybe confidence isn’t about knowing we can succeed.

Maybe it’s knowing we can handle the process of learning through doing.

The Moorabbin Saints Toastsmasters club will support your growth!

As we begin a new financial year with a new committee, I want to acknowledge what makes Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters special: our people.

Thank you, Maria, the president, for organising the recent catch up. It was warm, cosy, and a lovely reminder that a great club starts with people who care.

One of our strengths is that we evaluate with grace. We evaluate to build each other up, to recognise what is working, and to help every speaker grow in confidence.

I also want to recognise our young volunteers. When someone who is only 14, turning 15, is eager to volunteer and contribute to the success of the club, it says a lot about the welcoming environment we are creating.

At Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters, people show up at meeting Times: 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month 7:30 P.M.to explore their message, find their voice, and practise speaking more effectively. Over time, they become more confident communicators at home, at work, with friends, and in the community.

The club attracts people who want to grow and support others. As we begin this new year, the volunteer committee commits to serve a club where people feel safe to speak, encouraged to improve, and proud to contribute.

Before you decide to be a member of this awesome club, be our honour guest.

It was another amazing night at Moorabbin Saints!

It was so warm, welcoming, and fun! that’s the kind of atmosphere I would never want to miss out.

Somehow each member managed to add to creating such a comforting space together. I haven’t been able to do much more for our meetings and for the club, because of many existing commitments, but hey, I’m always there if not in person, then in spirit.

I love our club ❤️

Have a great week everyone

I am staying on …
How about you?

“The Secret to Keeping Great People*

People don’t join by accident.
And they definitely don’t stay by accident.

They arrive curious.
Exploring.
Wondering if this place might be for them.

And then, very quickly, it comes down to one thing:

How they feel.

Do they feel welcome?
Safe to speak?
Comfortable being themselves?

Or do they feel like they have to perform just to fit in?

Because when people feel respected…
When they’re genuinely listened to…
When their voice actually matters—

They decide fast.

They don’t just visit.
They stay.

And when that happens consistently, something powerful starts to build:

A place where people grow.
In confidence.
In skill.
In who they are.

That’s what I found at Moorabbin Saints Toastmasters.

I didn’t just see a club, I saw an environment where people are encouraged to speak up, be heard, and improve.

And that’s the kind of place worth being part of.

You may participate to grow confidence or skills, but then you want to grow this space, your empowered community!
