On Monday Night it was SMJFL Umpires time to celebrate with the OpenCorp Umpire Presentation Night held at Kingston Town Hall.

Congratulations to all award winners on the night and a big thank you to all our special guests who attended, in particular AFL Umpires Rob O'Gorman and Leigh Fisher, OpenCorp Director Michael Beresford and the Griffin Family.

The league would like to congratulate OpenCorp SMJFL Umpire Academy coach Mitch Lea on his VFL umpiring debut this past Sunday in the Richmond v Collingwood game at Punt Road Oval.

The OpenCorp SMJFL Umpire Academy recently reached it's 600th registration for season 2022.

After the interruptions of the past couple of years, it's so great to have so many dedicated individuals ensuring all of our in excess of 10,500 participants get to play the game we all love - FOOTY!

Thanks to all umpires, including our club volunteer umpires for the terrific work they've done for the first half of the season and good luck for the rest of the year!

It's been so good to have footy back in 2022 and we appreciate all the hard work and dedication our Umpires have done to get this season up and running!
