Behind the scenes with Jerisha 🎨

Jerisha shared her healing story while painting in the art centre.

Art can be a strong way to feel calm, tell stories, and connect with culture.

We are thankful to Jerisha for sharing her time, her story, and her beautiful artwork with us.

Healing can look different for everyone. For some, it starts with a yarn. For others, it starts with picking up a paint brush.

Young men grow strong when they learn, connect, and walk together. πŸ‘£

In Nitjpurru, young men have been getting out on Country with the Break'n Barrierz crew.

They have been taking part in fun and healthy activities through the Walking a New Path Together program.

These on Country activities help young people learn about safety, respect, good choices, healthy relationships, and wellbeing. 🀜🏽 πŸ€›πŸ½

It’s great to see young men spending time together, learning new skills, and growing strong for themselves, their families, and their community. πŸ’ͺ🏽

This week we celebrate our mob, our culture, our stories, and our strength.

Big thanks to Barunga Festival for having us! ✨

We had a deadly time at our stall with Jenga, a Polaroid photo booth, fresh fruit and tasty snacks. 🍎

It was great to yarn with everyone about healthy relationships, healing and looking after each other.

Thank you to everyone who came by! 🧑

✨ Meet Donny! ✨

Donny is a counsellor with the Big Rivers Healing for Our Mob team. She works with community in Lajamanu and Yarralin.

If you see Donny around, say hello and have a yarn. πŸ‘‹πŸ½

If you're carrying big worries, feeling stressed, or feeling anxious, Donny is there to listen and support you.

Sometimes having a yarn about what’s going on can help make those worries feel a little lighter. πŸ’›

Coming together through creativity, connection and yarning. 🀝🏽

During our group session, women from Lajamanu Community made earrings and shared strong, honest yarns about healing.

We spoke about ways to support and empower women's healing journey, while building self-love and a stronger sense of self.

A safe space. Strong women. Healing together. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Cooking up a tasty feed in Ngukurr! πŸ₯˜

A few weeks ago the team were out in Ngukurr community. The deadly ladies at Ngukurr FaFT made a delicious satay dish during our cooking class.

We sat down and had a feed and a yarn about healing and sharing our worries.

Thanks for having us Ngukurr Families as First Teachers. πŸ™πŸ½

Barunga Festival is on this weekend. 🎊

We'll have a stall at the festival so stop by and have a yarn with us. πŸ’¬

We've got some deadly activities planned for the day like Polaroid photos, a healing tree and Jenga in our chill out zone. 🎢

We also have some deadly merch to give out, but you'll have to come and see for yourself.
