Last week Joeys, Cubs and Scouts all met together at the pool to work towards their Swimming Badge, building confidence, improving their swimming skills and learning valuable water safety knowledge along the way.

The Swimming Badge is about much more than just swimming laps. Scouts learn how to have fun and stay safe around water, develop important life skills, build resilience and challenge themselves to achieve new goals.

Well done to everyone who jumped in (the water safe way), gave it a go and supported each other throughout the session.

Thank you community!

We set the goal to raise $2000 for new hiking backpacks and through the Recycle Rewards program we raised a whopping $1856.20!!

Hiking gear is expensive and we're not for profit so the $1856.20 will be going towards new light and strong backpacks for Howrah.

Adventure is out there!

Our Recycle Rewards for Hiking backpacks has now closed. A new goal will open soon which we'll share with you.

We're SO close.

On Saturday 30 May, we're aiming to raise $275 in recycle rewards to get brand new backpacks for Howrah and we need your help to get there.

No drop-off is too small. Every can and bottle counts.

We had a blast at Clarence District Scout Camp!

This year's camp had it all; construction projects, point-to-point activities, camping, cooking on fire (damper and jaffle desserts were on the menu) and a bonfire that could probably be seen from the moon.

Our patrol headed in without a full patrol, which meant we couldn't actively compete, but that didn't stop them from doing their best and giving it a Red Hot Go - that is the Howrah Scout way.

They built a dining shelter AND a catapult, tackled every activity they could, and gave absolutely everything they had.

Howrah Scouts got a special mention for their efforts (the judges let us know that with a full patrol, they would have placed in the top three).

We couldn't be more proud of these young people. The heart and determination they showed all weekend was something else.

And a massive shoutout to our incredible leaders who give their time so generously to help our Scouts grow, it doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you.

In November the Clark Trophy will be held and we are in for a chance!

It's been a super fun week in the Howrah Scout Hall!

On Tuesday our Cub Pack invited their mum and special adults for some greek yoghurt facial pampering and nail art.
The Glow Up was real for Mums and Grandmas! Thank you Mums and Grandmas/Nans for coming along and letting us spoil you for Mother's Day 💐

Wednesday our Scout Troop prepared for this weekend's District Camp and cooked scrumptious Damper with garlic and herb butter and dessert jaffles with strawberries, banana and a drizzle of Icing. Fancy!
We can't wait to share with you highlights of their weekend. 🏕️

Thursday our Joey Mob had a Bring a Friend night so they could share their night with a chosen friend. What a bunch of lucky ducks! 💑

Cooking, camping, Glow Ups and bringing their mate along for the ride is all just another week at Howrah Scout Hall.

Great news for those who volunteer. Free WwVP cards benefit our Scout leadership and parent volunteers, reducing barriers to participation as valued members of our community!

Working with Vulnerable People cards are now free 🙌

It's about making it easier for Tasmania's 332,000 volunteers to keep doing what they love.

This two-year initiative is an important cost-of-living measure, reducing expenses for our volunteers.
