On Sunday at Bunnings Mornington the Barbie was busy, with our BBQ Masters keeping the snags coming at an impressive rate!
Meanwhile, our Scouts were hard at work taking orders, calculating change, fetching drinks, assembling the goods and generally keeping the adults organised, like the strong leaders they are becoming!

We shared plenty of laughs with a fantastic stream of people stopping by to support Howrah Scout Group.

Did you come visit us and grab a snag or drink?
We’re thrilled to say that we exceeded our fundraising target! The funds raised will go towards supporting our youth members to participate in outdoor and adventurous activities, getting them outdoors, learning new skills, challenging themselves and having some pretty great adventures along the way.
Quick math tells us we might be able to purchase an inReach device to ensure the safety of our youth and leaders on trips and excursions.

A HUGE thank you to our Committee, everyone who volunteered their time including our Scouts who got stuck in and worked brilliantly, and to everyone who stopped for a snag, a drink or a chat.

And, of course, a massive thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Australia (Mornington) for giving local community groups like ours the opportunity to raise much-needed funds.

Big adventures for little Joeys!
From earning special interest badges, making grass heads, to evening walks and meeting special guests, making sushi and having plenty of fun along the way.

Joey Scouts is open to everyone aged 5-8.

During the week, it was fantastic to bring Joeys, Cubs and Scouts together for a mixed-section event with Robot Man!

What a fun night it was! The youth got stuck into building LEGO cars, then used tablets to code them and race them to the wall and back.

There was plenty of excitement and suspense as everyone watched to see which car would win, while checking out the different designs and discussing why each car had been built the way it had.

Technology, design, teamwork and problem-solving all came together in one action-packed night!

The youth are already keen to make it an annual event!

A huge thank you to Robot Man, our Leaders and all the helpers who made the night possible.

What a great night of learning, creating and having fun together!

Last Week at Howrah Scout Group

It was another fun-filled week at Howrah Scout Group, with plenty of learning, laughter and good times across all three sections!

Our Joeys had a green thumb last week! They planted seeds and have now taken them home to care for and tend to. With regular watering, warmth and plenty of daylight on the windowsill, we’re looking forward to seeing their seeds grow. In a few weeks, Joeys can provide photos of their plants as part of working towards their Special Interest Badge.

Cubs got plenty of energy out with a fun games and activities night, including a Nerf battle! There was lots of excitement, laughter and plenty of action throughout the night. A great night of fun and friendship!

Scouts got cooking this week, trying their hand at both camping-style cooking and traditional indoor cooking on the stovetop.
The menu included:
- Mac and cheese 3 ways
- Butter chicken with rice
- Popcorn
- Jaffles
- Banana fritters

Several parents joined us and enjoyed the feast around the communal table. So good!

A big warm welcome to all the young people who joined us this week to see what Scouts is all about! We hope you had a fantastic time and look forward to seeing you again soon

Today, Scouts from all around the world will celebrate World Scout Day. For many people, it will seem like just another Saturday. But for us, it is something much more.

It is a day to remember that more than a century ago, a small group of young people gathered around a campfire with a man we call BP, who believed the world could be better if young people were given the chance to lead it.
