General Meeting and Veterans' Lunch - Sunday 24 May 2026

Our next General Meeting and Veteran's Lunch is on this Sunday, 24 May 2026, at 1100 in the Hornsby RSL Club. We will be welcoming some new members and one of our newest members, Martin Ryan, will be speaking about his experience as the "unknown veteran" making the Enduring Spirit of ANZAC March from Holsworthy to the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, in full WW1 kit.

All members are welcome to bring a guest for the lunch. If you need to bring a friend who can provide transport, that person is welcome to be your guest for the lunch.

The lunch is open to all veterans, not just members. Please invite any non-member veterans that you are in contact with to join us on Sunday. (Note that a non-member veteran does not count as your guest; you can still have a non veteran or partner or friend as your guest). We also invite widows of former members to join us and to become Affiliates so that they can continue their association with the veteran community; if you are in contact with any of our former members' widows, why not see if you can assist them to get here.

Members may be interested to know that the film Bravery & Betrayal will be broadcast free to air this ANZAC weekend on Channel 7, Sunday 26 April 2026 at 9pm across Australia.

If you miss it or prefer to watch anytime, the film is also available to stream online or purchase on DVD.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of RSL Hornsby Sub-Branch, we invite you to attend this year’s Remembrance Day Commemoration.

The Commemoration will commence at 10:40am at the Hornsby Cenotaph on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. Participants are requested to assemble in front of the Hornsby Cenotaph by 10.30am.

In the event of inclement weather, an abbreviated Service will be held in the Hornsby War Memorial Hall (2 High Street, Hornsby).
