That’s it… EOIs for the Spartans Rugby Club’s Scrum & Scones Tour 2027 with ACT Veterans Rugby are now officially CLOSED!

Over the past few months, Spartans members from across Australia have put their hands up for what promises to be the opportunity of a lifetime. The response has been incredible, and now the difficult job begins for our coaching and management team as they select the squad that will represent the Spartans on the international stage.

With fixtures confirmed, venues locked in, and our tour itinerary being finalised, this historic journey is becoming very real. From ANZAC Day commemorations in London, to taking on exciting opposition in England and Scotland, the tour will be an unforgettable experience both on and off the field.

For those selected, this will be far more than just a rugby tour. It will be a chance to represent Australian veterans, mateship, and the Spartan spirit in front of an international audience while creating memories that will last forever.

There is still plenty of work ahead. Fundraising, preparation, pre-events, squad announcements, logistics and planning all stand between now and departure day. But make no mistake…

Spartans Rugby want to remind everyone and promote awareness of Men’s Health Week NOW!

Running in Australia from June 15–21 and hosted by the Australian Men’s Health Forum, the official Men's Health Week website spearheads the national "101 Reasons to See Your GP" campaign to encourage men to stop putting their health in the too-hard basket. Check it out here!

Men are more likely to die from preventable causes and take their own lives at significantly higher rates than women.

Player Focus! From the very beginning of the Spartans Rugby Club, Baxy was one of the first to put his hand up and get involved. A former member of the Royal Australian Signals Corps rugby team, he recognised the importance of what the Spartans were trying to achieve - bringing veterans together through rugby, camaraderie, and a shared sense of purpose. We’re proud to have Baxy as part of the Spartan family and look forward to seeing him continue his rugby journey in green and gold for many years to come.
