The AMWU is sending a clear message to the incoming CEO, Mike Baird, that we are serious about achieving outcomes for our members at NRMA.
This morning NRMA roadside assist patrol officers marched from Town Hall to NRMA Headquarters to deliver their claims.
Across the state, 260 officers will cease work for 48 hours tonight and tomorrow.
Our members are not asking for much—just respect and dignity—and that includes securing a fair and decent pay rise. ✊🏻

NRMA workers took Protected Industrial Action again today as they fight for a fair and decent pay rise against a combatitive NRMA.
Across the state, 260 NRMA roadside assist patrol officers will cease work for 48 hours tonight and tomorrow.

These workers are some of the lowest paid mechanics in the state, but work across a gruelling 24/7 schedule, rail hail or shine helping NSW motorists.

All of this for less pay than mechanics in local businesses get.
If NRMA can’t retain these workers, the future of roadside assist looks dire, and the AMWU won't be backing away from this fight!

After years of advocacy from the AMWU, last night the Local Jobs First Bill 2026 was introduced in NSW Parliament.

This legislation is a positive and hard-earned step towards ensuring taxpayer dollars fund local industry and provide good, safe local jobs for workers.

It’s time to build them here.

This is the trade union movement at its best! AMWU Delegate Phil Sutton leading members at ANSTO to fight for - and WIN - the reinstatement of ANSTO's quality in-house Apprenticeship Programme.
This replaced the outsourced scheme that paid our apprentices poorly and failed to retain them.
It's been a long hard road leading to a celebration we couldn't be more proud of: AMWU stands for quality training for young Australians!

Special thanks to Senator Ayres, Ash Ambihaipahar MP, David Moncrieff MP, ANSTO Chair Mike Quigley and ANSTO CEO Shaun Jenkinson for joining us in celebrating this achievement.

Three generations at Dux Hot Water for Made in Australia Week!

This week is special for Dux AMWU member Kane. On Monday he was joined at work by his father-in-law Alan and his son Blake, who has recently joined the Dux production team.

This is what Aussie manufacturing is all about - secure jobs building strong families and communities.

AMWU Delegates getting it done!

Returning to work after an injury is a process that should be managed by medical professionals and designed to keep you safe. When AMWU delegate Carlos found out that his employer was keeping a number of his workmates at work over the hours outlined by their doctors, he did his research, put the company on notice, and achieved a real win.
