Volunteering with Valley RDA means spending time with our beautiful horses (and ponies like Milo and Milkshake), joining a welcoming community of like-minded people, and helping local children living with disabilities enjoy their time in the saddle. There’s nothing quite like hearing a rider tell you that their favourite part of the week is coming to Valley RDA.

Meet Daniel!

Daniel has been volunteering with Valley RDA for eight years and is our resident Sidewalker Extraordinaire. He takes on the heavy-duty work with some of our most vulnerable riders, making his support an incredibly important part of our sessions.

Daniel loves the attitude and like-mindedness of his fellow volunteers, but what he enjoys most is seeing our riders having fun and getting the most out of their time with the horses. He also treasures his quiet moments with Sir Victor, a special bond built on trust, respect and eight years of knowing each other.

We were delighted to welcome Laura Ge**er MP Currumbin, to Valley RDA to see firsthand how our charity makes a difference in the lives of local children living with disabilities.

Laura spent time meeting our riders, parents, volunteers and, of course, our wonderful horses, seeing the incredible connections and progress that happen here every day. We were so proud to be described as “incredible and dedicated” and thrilled that our horses were included in that too. We couldn’t agree more!

Welcoming our two newest Assistant Coaches, Fiona and Ayla!

Valley RDA is so grateful to Fiona and Ayla, who volunteer their time alongside their full-time jobs to study, gain their coaching qualifications and support our riders living with disability.

We’re lucky to have them sharing their time with our riders, horses and wonderful RDA community. Coaching is incredibly rewarding, especially when you get to see the difference you can make in a child’s life.
